Trish Carden has previewed the first look at her next completed project for the HarrowHyrst range of Fantasy miniatures. Darach the Forest Dragon is going to be stomping out of the woods very soon to scare off interlopers!
Darach the Forest Dragon // Trish Carden
Trish has been talking about this miniature over on her Facebook Page and how this is a conversion. It's a mix of two other dragons from the HarrowHyrst range taking the body from Quercas and the wings from Snowk. Whilst this might seem like an easy job, it was actually quite challenging, according to Trish!

There are some changes made along the way, including tweaking the positioning of the wings. There was also a lot of additional cutting and re-sculpting to make sure that there was dynamism in the finished sculpt. Once again, Trish has managed to nail the stylish nature of the HarrowHyrst range that should keep a lot of Oldhammer fans very happy indeed.
Darach the Forest Dragon - Details // Trish Carden
Once you start to look closely at the miniature for Darach, you start to see all of the gorgeous details that have been worked into the miniature. I could see folks painting up Darach with a lot of Contrast/Speed paints and using the fluid nature of the paint to blend a lot of the different elements together, giving him an almost camouflaged look.
This would work really well and build on some of the narrative around Darach. I get the sense that everyone thinks "something" is hiding in the forest but they're not entirely sure what. The trees keep moving and the paths are shifting but is it just a trick of the mind? Did you just see a big, yellow eye peering out of that hedge?
I think you could have a lot of fun with this miniature in your Fantasy games and hopefully it won't be long until it's available!
