Unreleased Miniatures expanded their collection of 28mm Fantasy figures with some additions to the Garrison of Rusogrod. There are some new characters in the mix, alongside a collection of core troops that you can use to build up a warband for whatever game takes your fancy.

Rusogrodian Tsar - Unreleased Miniatures

Leading the way is the Rusogrodian Tsar, who could act as a great leader for your warband. He clutches his helmet under one hand whilst raising his sword high, ready to signal his archers to fire or his men to charge. The vibe of the sculpts draws on the Rus aesthetic but also the style that you would have seen for Lake-town/Esgaroth in The Hobbit. So, if you're looking to bulk up your collection and get some miniatures without paying a Forge World premium, this would be the place to check out.

When it comes to core troops, Unreleased has got you covered with three different sets that could be blended together or kept separate in units, depending on what kind of game you're playing.

Rusogrodian Swordsmen - Unreleased Miniatures

The Swordsmen look great with their rather intricate shields. I also think their expressions look good, and there is plenty of detail to be picked out when it comes to painting.

Rusogrodian Spearmen - Unreleased Miniatures

The same goes for the Spearmen, and as you can see, there are some repeat "styles" within the range, but they are different enough so when they are ranked up on the tabletop. I think they would look great in the tan colours from The Hobbit version of Esgaroth but you could also go with a brighter colour scheme, especially when it comes to their shields, in order to make them fit a different universe.

Some of my favourite miniatures are always the archers, and I think you've got some rather nice ones here amongst the Unreleased Miniatures collection. You have a variety of different poses, which is always helpful, especially when you're playing skirmish games.

A couple more options can be seen over on the Unreleased Miniatures website, but I wanted to sneak a peek at the rather impressive Siege Bow.

Stack a few of these up along the walls of your settlement and use them to harry the enemy from afar or perhaps protect you from dragons. Another great addition to the collection from Unreleased, who always seem to put together fun alternatives for Middle-earth fans and Fantasy collectors in general.

Could you be tempted by some of the new Rusogrodian miniatures?

"Another great addition to the collection from Unreleased..."
