Arcworlde 2nd Edition Halflings
You missed a spot!
Set myself up to paint last night and realised I’d managed to miss the bottom of all of the tabards. After a moment’s cursing I did these, highlighted them and the leather. Then I basecoated wooden bits. This evening the hair and the metallics will be done. Then they’ll start to look better. I always find that over a light undercoat, part done miniatures look poor. Strange quirk, but black undercoat always leads to a better looking mini throughout the painting process (in my humble opinion!)
The more I paint them, the more I’m enjoying the character in the faces. A great case in point is the Thing Flinger crew who is feeding hay to the Bullox (bottom picture with the wide eyes) I get the impression she really loves the animal she’s feeding, hence the doe eyes.. it makes more sense when the model is next to the Bullox. I’ll take another picture this evening
I’m really enjoying your project and your doing a cracking job. I’m tempted by the ArcWorlde range but I’m torn because I’ve seen so much lovely stuff this month and have so much to choose from. Keep posting up your progress and great work on these halflings ?
Thanks! I can heartily recommend the models. So full of character, I wish I was a good enough painter to really do them justice. Once the halflings are done and I’ll be on to the Forest dragons. As much as the halflings are all cute, cuddly and heavily armoured.. the dragons are just absolute beasts!
They really are full of character and are absolutely lovely minis. Don’t sell yourself short I think the contrast of the light blue with the dark on the halfling jerkin is a cracking paint job they are really looking top notch so far and let’s face it you’ve managed a eye catching look on a pretty small area. Especially liking the shield. Keep going and I’m sure you’ll tame the beast, I look forward to seeing what you come up with ?
