The Final Push - Lawnor approaches 100% painted
53 MTG: A week off work to paint and do not much else
I’ve been prepping for this week. I plan in painting my Slaanesh half of Wrath and Rapture that I got in the Iron Arena at the 2018 BonesCon. Over the past week I have built them, decorated the bases to match my Khorne half, primed them and left them a couple of days to dry. Friday evening and saturday I was applying a wash, then putting them on one side for 6+ hours while I painted something else. I picked up Vallejos “Non-Death Chaos” paint set for this project as I want to follow the guide to see what I can learn. Its near the end of Saturday, I’m 3 washes in and I have 2 side solos finished. I’ve also got the base and 3 shades down on the harp flesh.
Hecate, Goddess of Magic and Witchcraft, the Chillcon 2019 event exclusive mini. She’s a bit of a dissapointment in quality. 2018s mini was a rather nice metal viking lady on a decorative base. This lady is a bit of a rough sculpt. Painted up OK in the end.
Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt by Belt Fed Gaming. She came in the same goody bag. She is a pretty basic sculpt.
I have my first roleplay session in over a decade tomorrow. I’m running the game (Lost Mines of Phandelver) and I haven’t played D&D since 3.5 ed. Back when I last ran a session video chat wasn’t a thing. D&D was only done in person and now we are playing over roll20. We don’t start until 7.30 pm but I imagine I won’t get as much painting done tomorrow as I’d like. I expect I’ll be procrastinating all day. Not quite painting. Not quite prepping for the session. Moderately stressing but not really doing anything about it.
