Defiance
Wave One Finishing line
So I was on a roll, A race to the finish. Nox done in a single day what could stop me now. I only had one model left and I thought I could get it done in a day.
So I was wrong I done the base in a day as it had a model on it. Then I added green tones as the tag on the base crap though it is was stealing the show.
before I even got to that point I also spent about 6 hours prepping this model on and off. Removing bad mould lines from a PVC model is not fun I even had to remove the bendy blade and convert the model to look like it was before I started or how it should have been… I also decided to magnetise this base which involved sculpting which if anyone knows me I love… Add another couple of hours. I have not made the Infinity base for it yet but it’s on a list now.
I also dislike the sculpt, pose, theme and material though I do like the artwork. Funny that there doesn’t seem to be a studio paint job of this. I think it’s because they couldn’t find someone stupid enough to take on the job as it would probably ruin them if anyone found out they painted it.
Enough Megalodron bashing. I did enjoy parts of this. I think one side of the model looks good. Overall not 100% happy with this but I had to call it a day as it was pissing me off.
One last bash.. Why is this the centrepiece of the Defiance box? If this wasn’t the case I probably wouldn’t have even painted it. but it is so I did
So I am calling it half way done. Enough to play through the initial campaign and then some. It wasn’t horrible. I do love some of the models a lot which is why I backed it.
There is some cost or time saving measures you can see Corvus Belli made. No more PVC models for me. If Infinity is Porn then PVC models gives me a floppy. I would actually prefer Siocast, possibly that’s their plan, the same as GW did with failcast, show people the cheap option then it’s £25 for a character model right up the back door. I hope not.
The whole set is quality and it’s great box Porn as well.
Now to get some games in to inspire me to continue and possibly move across to another project for a little while.
More to come in a little while.
