About the Project

In this Project, I'll build, paint and go through the rules contained in the Fullthrust Starter box. Full Thrust by Ground Zero Games is one of the most versatile Spacebattle rules systems. They encourage you to adapt the rules for any setting, like Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate and Babylon 5 rules can be found. The system is exceptionally versatile catering from beginners over to intermediate and off to full-fledged simulation. Ground Zero Games offer their setting and miniatures as well which are made from white metal and are regularly updated. The company has been around since the nineties and is well known among those who've heard of them. The Starterbox was made together with the Battletech club in Germany and is hence available in the German language as well.

So I started painting the new Swabian League part, which was nice and easy, basically just used a bone color primer I had lying around, from Army painter, which I got for free with a paint set for Zombicide, will NOT buy that stuff, it squirted out the paint and was sealed before, so should have worked fine.

But back to the painting, I then gave them a layer of  bone white from Vallejo (or whatever it is called nowadays), followed by a wash of Nuln oil, then I put a stone wall grey from Vallejo on a lot of the panels, followed by a space wolf grey from GW.

I did the windows of the command bridges with three wet blended blues ranging from dark to light, and did wet-blend of fiery orange and pale yellow for the thrusters, the thrusters it self just got a mat balck on them.

Then the little radar bulbs got a plane white layer.

It is, however, worth to notice that the ships did not fit well on the bases, so I had to drill the holes deeper and with two different drills so they slot in.

There is a rulebook, two quickstart sheets with both fleets, a measuring tape, and faction-specific D6 dice. There is also miniatures and bases and a few water removable markers.

The miniatures itself, are made from metal and require a good clean up with the fine rasps and a flash remover, and as always with metal or resin miniatures a quick bath. The assembly is straightforward and very easy, after all, they are small space shos, and most of them come ina t most two parts.

There is a fleet of New Swabian Leauge, and the Alien crusties included.

What is not included in the box, is the movement ring template, but that runs about 5GBP or can be printed out.
