Battle Reports from a newbie

First game in 14 years over; didn’t win but had loads of fun. I brought my camera to the game!

Chose; Slay the Warlord, Abhor the Witch and Domination.

Nids won initiative so went first.

Set up all my list except interceptors who deep striked!
First turn SW 3 T 0
Three genestealers went down along with a hound of Morkai. I had my first objective.

Second turn SW 8 T 12
All the Fen Wolves felt the sting of the brood lord and went down like a lead balloon along with the Chaplin who got swarmed by the genestealers.

Third turn SW 22 T24
Deepstriked Nid (not sure of name) fell to Francois the Redemptor in one round (killed a witch!)
Deepstriked inteceptors tried to take out the genestealers but had no luck trying to get domination and move them from an objective.

Forth turn SW 25 T 33
Still alive after getting a pounding Bladeguard veteran sergeant and Bjorn did their best dispatching a genestealer squad and continuing on with securing an objective.

Fifth turn SW 34 T 41

Eliminators and Bjorn dispatched nid warlord (which was also a pysker) and scored some kill the witch and warlord points. Eliminators decimated the last genestealers but alas too late.

Looking back I should have tried to move a lot more on the nids covering objectives; however really happy with killing the witches and how well (both players agreed MVP) the sergeant bladeguard vet who survived onslaught after onslaught of genestealer attacks and whatever else was thrown at him!

I’d maybe change domination to something else as the Tyranids were able to secure objectives and stay on them!

Between myself and my mate Shay we agreed to have my first game of a 1000 points at Ontabletop HQ.
