Super Secret Birthday Project! Shhhhh – Don’t Tell

So was chatting with my brothers girlfriend last night – love her  to bits – the little sister I never had. She’s also the singer and guitar player in the band. And I shared my idea for his birthday present  with her – no going back now! 🙈 She thought it was awesome and the mini looked great but had some very clear instructions …

and she’s right – it’s a bit of a signature scheme blue shirt – generally with those intricate patterns. So on a scale model – that’s the detail I need to focus on. If I can nail that it will sell the mini as him.

Even if that means bringing back PTSD of doing pea-dot cammo!!

Got the mini printed up overnight – did a couple of copies to test colour  schemes. Pretty happy with how it came out.

So in all honestly I’ve been thinking about this project for a long time and trying to get something that feels just right. But at the end of the day it’s nothing if doesn’t happen so after a long *long* time  of tweaking and changing I eventually settled  on a Heroforge pose that I was fairly happy with and hit the ‘Buy STL button’

So it’s my baby brother’s birthday at the end of March and I was thinking what can I get him? He’s a pretty successful musician currently touring the world and bringing Irish music to the natives and anyone else who can pay!

So what can I get him? A new set of pipes is about 20 grand with a 10 year wait list … so no. Maybe, just maybe a 3D model of himself  designed, printed and painted by myself – that might be *ok* question  mark.

So like any good project we start with the source material – so I looked up some videos of my brother while he’s performing (that’s him in the middle on whistle and pipes) …
