Wild West Exodus Week: Hex Vs Warrior Nation Battle Report

In our second game of Wild West Exodus 2nd Edition Week we're jumping straight into the action this time with the Hex Vs Warrior Nation in this steampunk skirmish game from Warcradle Studios.
In our first game, we saw the Warrior Nation face off against The Watchers. Here, Darren is playing The Hex who will battle against Az who is playing as the Warrior Nation in this Higher Ground scenario.

Really enjoying WWX week. Can I be a greedy bastard and suggest that you get the lads from Warcradle over on a semi regular basis (at least twice a year)???
Oh @beardragon14 if schedules would only allow this I would be elated as the Warcradle guys are awesome and I need more WWX in my life! Too many great games! Az

this was a really small scale game. most games have a good amount more models 😀

Curious if it will ever pick up speed in Canada. Its hard finding gaming clubs that are not MTG/WH40K/Xwing only
I have yet to see a game store in Canada that carries this game. It is a shame.
Such a fun game that was. Was hoping to see Legendary Walks Lookig in action but Ghost Wolf will do as well. 🙂 Well done guys.
Go team Hex! This game shows one of the things I love about WWX; no wounds to tick off. Every shot and attack feels dangerous. Sure, you’ve got a Grit of 7 and Tough but you can still annoy the dice gods. Cracking game.
Ghost wolf is a monster. That piercing 4 is insane.
Decapitating strike to finish! Awesome.
My dice luck… I’m gonna see a lot of 1’s, but my friends are as lucky as I am, so it’s all fair 🙂

Another great series. Is there a Hobby Time/Love of the VLOG video on building the table? This type of table would be perfect for a couple different projects I have brewing.

The Hex has a grizzly packing a Gatling gun. I am changing my thoughts on the Hex.
Great game AZ and Darren, it was nice to see the Warrior Nation V Hex (Dark Nation). It would be nice to see a re-match between you, and with a bigger force.
Darren you need to have a quite word with the dice “GODS”, don`t think you paid them enough tribute last time. I`m really enjoying these mini battle reports, and can`t wait to play my first ever game.

Something different; might add to extend our Shadows of Brimstone characters… you guys need a “lipstick” usb camera to get right down on the table height so we can get views of miniatures vantage points and gameplay.

The scenarios, at least in the beta download, gave measurements for 3×3 and 4×4 boards.
I’m enjoying these so much and I’ve never heard of being flicked in the spuds before! What a turn of phrase! 😀
The game was a little on the small side but still very entertaining. Losing the Wendigo so early was crippling. Never really had a chance after that it seems.

Well played Az – good use of a big stock of fortune and some nicely timed cards! Was initially disappointed to see Warrior Nation again as opposed to another faction but it does show the options within factions. Looking forward to the next one!

Then I await them with excitement. I love the whole world behind WWX 😀 . But then who wouldn’t, if like me you grew up on a mass of westerns starring the likes of John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Audie Murphy, James Stewart and many others besides. Adding in the steanpunky aspect is just icing on the cake 😀 .

Cracking intro game for you there @thisisazrael 😀 . This week has provided me with the push i needed, i will be splitting my hobby time between my Lawmen & Outlaws and my first IG army.
Another great battle. I’m so happy with the work Warcradle have done on this game.
The whole Hex posse is Tainted. So, Lokess, Rex and that last headhunter should have made Mind checks or turned into Hex Beasts (something I wanted to see happen in a Hex game).
Me too. It would have been nice to see the look on Az’s face as the Hex Beasts reared up to attack his warriors.
Wanted to see that bear do something
It would have been good to see it open up on the warriors, but that threat is what makes it a priority target.
Really like the look of the Hex. Can’t wait for a full release of the rules so I can get into this game.

I really like these themed weeks. I appreciate the rules are still in beta, but is it possible to give them an overview? I imagine most of the content is pre-filmed but it’d be nice to understand if you’re rolling under/over a statistic/comparing to a table, if high is good or bad.

I do love the feel of WWX and this week has certainly increased its prominence on my radar – especially the Hex – why is there never enough hobby hours in the day?
