BIG RESIN KIT: Leviathan Mortis form Dreamforge Games
December 13, 2010 by lloyd
Have you been on the lookout for a big project? Well get your brush this could be it. Mark Mondragon over at Dreamforge Games has release some images of the new resin kit the “Leviathan Mortis”.
It certainly caught my attention, its one cool looking model and a big one too, it looks about six times the height of the miniature (8.5″ to 9.5″) that can be seen with it in the photos.
Also worth noting guys is that the arms are designed to be hot swapped with other weapons and can be posed after it’s built!
The legs and waist are designed to be posed but must be glued in place.... This will give freedom of pose to each kit.
In the photo’s you can see a quick build he has done of the new kit taking just a few hours so he could show it to the world and get stuck in to creating the assembly instructions.
Also I have added a CGI image which can give you an idea of what it might be like painted.
Here’s a link to the Dreamforge Games site and also one to Marks blog.
BoW Lloyd.
Oooohhhhh Necron Titan!!!!
lol yuupp XD
It looks Chaos because of the back smoke stacks but Necron in the head. Can pass for eather if you paint it good.
Please excuse the website for now… I know its broken and I’ll be getting to that as soon as time allows.
Hey Lloyd, let me know if you do a vid on this so I can link to it 😉
All the best,
Mark-
Mark, that model is so incredibly awesome that it doesn’t even matter if your website isn’t working. We’re totally willing to forgive such a minor grievance in light of such a masterpiece.
This model has hit the blogosphere like a firestorm, and most of those thoughts are aimed at 40K. The model in and of itself is amazing on it’s own, and I admit I am incredibly jealous of Mark’s creativity and skill. But I do take umbrage with the comments of “Necron titan” or “Chaos titan”. For one, Necron skulls are far too elongated to match the model, and Necrons don’t use such mechanical devices. The pistons and joints are too mechanical for Necrons. As for Chaos, it would have to look more daemon possessed, more sinew, more fangs, pointed arrows,… Read more »
i have to have one, just for kicks
Probably one of the best reasons to buy anything 🙂
While the Mortis is nice I much preffer the others myself. The skull head is just a bit too much compared to the knights helm and more robotic helm options they are also producing. The only real problem is that while it is expensive being a very large resin kit, which is fine, the extra costs for postage and import tax might very well make it very expensive indeed. Hopefully they will get a UK/EU stockist that can bring them across for cheaper. As for uses frankly 40k never even occured to me straight away, I was much to busy… Read more »
Cursed13: Thanks for the understanding, I hope I don’t upset too many people; it was a cart before the horse decision. Do I release it with the game not completed and the website a mess? Or wait months to get things lined up? I know it’s rather unpolished of me, but I decided to go for it. Tigernexus: The skull head seems to be a love it or hate it thing, I will provide the Crusader head with the Mortis to let the customer decide what they prefer. Just a quick word about the game system these are designed for:… Read more »
Regardless of what system it is used for that is a beautiful model.
the model looks awesome – plastic $80 – 350 is too high for mass purchase
i know they are one offing them right now but – i don’t see it or any titan esque model being worth more than a hundo. personal opinion.
flame on trollies
love the look, but the price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with John,
I MUST HAVE ONE!
if i build it dude you can paint it 😛
I know…I know, the price….
I don’t price things based on what I think the market will pay, I work it backyards form the production costs to find out what I have to charge to keep the doors open.
I prefer to be very upfront about things like this. There is simply no way for the average customer to understand why they are charged so much for a toy if no one is willing to explain it.
You can read about the costs here:

There’s no need to apologise for the pirce. The nearest equivalent to the work you’re producing is Forgeworld… and I don’t see them apologising for charging the price of a human kidney for a similar piece. People will always pay for quality and some quality pieces will always be out of some people’s budget… if I can’t afford diamonds… I have to buy cubic zirconium… thems the rubs. Having just been looking for mech models for some Secrets of the Third Reich, I’ve seen some scary prices for models and I mean prices that just can’t be justified… but if… Read more »
Well, this should make a cracking addition to my emperor’s children chaos army. I’ll have to pick one up!
This would make an amazing daemon engine with some GS and a little conversion work.
I cant believe people havent had this idea… Maybe a Chaplain Titan!? I think that would be awesome…
