Yes more warmachine plz. Thinking of switching from 40k to this game but never getting around to it. Mainly cause I don’t wanna read throu all the rules just to find out I don’t like it.
there’s quick start rules in the box so you can be playing a game with in 10 min of getting the minis built.

You can also download the Quickstart rules for free from Privateer Press’s website. They include the stat cards for the Battlebox Warcasters and their Warjacks, so you can proxy a whole game using your 40k minis to see if you like it before you buy anything.
Plus, with the price changes and the banning of retailers from UK to the world… it is a good time to jump ship. 😀
Thanks but the change from WFB/40k, wich I’ve played on and off for 18 years (im 36 now), to another game system is huge, I don’t have the time for these big WFB anymore, play a couple of border patrol and combat patrol now and then but that’s it. It’s just such a huge step for me and I’m trying to decide on Infinity, Warmachine or just WAB…it’s so hard, wich one had more time. I really like the gametable size 4*4 and smaller, but more “realistic” games than 40k.
Warmachine seems to be a lot of knowing special rules and how they react with each other. It seems that one characters special rule often contradicts one’s own and you need to keep track of the opponents special rules. Something that I find more and more frustrating, I don’t wanna have to learn each army before I can play aginst them.
In WFB you have to remeber that the enemy suffers from animosity, stupidity and so on (cause the opponent often forgetts his own rules), in WAB you just look at their armour/equipment and you sort of know how though they are.
Warmachine seems to have even more complex special abilities than WFB. I want complex “realistic” core rules but easy to understand armies if you understand what I mean.
Honestly, it’s a lot less complicated than 40k or WFB… It really hasn’t got a lot of complex rules, just some spells or special abilities for some character and units, and every power and spell is clearly stated on each stat card. No confusion possible !

It is a very tight rules set. Easy to play, but with surprising depth. I switched from 40k and found the rules to be so refreshing. Solid game.
And that’s why I’m hoping you guys make more vids so I can figure out if this game is for me. Keep up the good work
Hi Guys, Andi,
First off, I’m from Austria, so pls forgive me any spelling or grammar mistakes.
I’m a dedicated Cryx Player (just love those undead) and I want to add a little bit to your tipps.
– Ghost Walk: Yes, this is one of the game winning spells, not only on battlegroup sized games, but it comes in handy in many situations.
– But IMO the most important feature of pDenny is Crippling Grasp and her feat, especially on battlegroup size. Don’t ever forget that any penalty to your movement (as you suffer from CGrasp or the feat) denies a charge. Also not being able to run slows down your oponent dramatically. Particularly against Khador, who do generally not have a great SPD value, this works perfectly. And since Warmachine is often won by the “more active” player, so the one who can pull off more charges, being able to outmaneuver your oponent and charge by yourself is vital.
Just imagine a Khador jack (SPD 4) being reduced to SPD 1 (which is the minimum value) and not able to charge or run. If the enemy warcaster is hit by this combo the game is greatly on your side. And I didn’t even mention the further debuffs against the other stats.
Basically with Deneghras feat you can have a turn of hard hitting (because of reduced DEF and ARM of your oponent) and in the enemy’s turn you suffer very little retaliation, also because of the reduced stats (even FOCUS is affected! –> mind the reduced control area in this case).
There is also a very good (mean) trick for assassinations with pDenny. Use her spell “Scourge” with an arcnode, not further than ~4 inch away of your target, so it cannot deviate off the target and so automatically knock it down. This is then just what you’ve been waiting for – your fast jacks (even bonejacks) can now easily kill the knocked down target. Ideally you can do this with the enemy warcaster, which simply is a game winner.
If some of the enemies are just too tough, use CGrasp or Parasite or both of them (Both are upkeep spells!!) to dramatically reduce the ARM and even the DEF a little. Afterwards nothing should be too hard anylonger. This is also why pDenny is one of the casters, which are able to make any jack/unit/solo work in a Cryx army.
Just be careful with pDenny since she is not the toughest warcaster, although she is relatively hard to hit and stealth helps also in this regard (especially in battlebox games, where there are few to none stealth-ignoring abilities and spells). Indeed a deviated bombard cannon of a Khador Destroyer can be a thread, but will also not kill her off instantly.
Just remember to always bring arc-nodes with pDenny, she very much relies on them.
Greetings from Austria

wow Andy is Batman :O
awesome vid Andy and finally Daily Tips for Warmachines keep ’em coming
btw will you do vids for Hordes armies, too?
They may not be out every day, but I’ll try my best! 😀
Good timing! I was thinking of Cryx being my second warmachine army… Since thats going to be my main tabletop game now… Thanks for another price hike GW!
Are the Hordes box sets going to be covered some time soon? Also I might not play that force, but your reveiws help me know what to look out for when I face one. Have yet to fight a Cryx player.
I too would love to see some Hordes vids.
Great as always Andy. We were missing your Warmachine vids. It should also be nice if you did a Complete Battle report, is the best way to get the feel of the game. Thanks.
Love the batman T-shirt, honestly! I’d love to see a hordes verson of this to get a feel for using them. Great video.
Is the Crusader cheering them on?
If i recall correctly, the Slayer has a Combo Strike. Can he use that as his initial attack, and can he buy additional Combo strikes?
The Slayer’s Combo Strike is a special attack. He can use it instead of his initial attack.
He can buy more attacks with one of his claws, but he can’t buy any more Combo Strikes.
Yes a whole, small, battlereport, kind of like the one you did for Infinity would be great
Glad to see this…really useful and I could have done with it months ago before my first game. Looking forward to hordes and PofM reports now ;). Some nice bits in it for N00BS. A full on Battle report with post play what I would have done different would be super cool awesome. Im trying to get my PoM to the table as so far its just ben my trolls
Any chance of hosting this one locally? I’ve just started Warmachine and it would be pretty useful! (That or get the YouTube issue sorted ofc!)
I do hope they can repost this video. I´m considering starting warmachine with a cryx battlebox and need all help i can get 🙂
i would also love to see this re-posted as me and my friend have just started warmachine i have khador and he has cyrx so any tactics for him and ideas would be awesome as we both only have the starter sets at the moment
Another tactic I use due to the speed of the Cryx is I get the defiler to move in to range for a boosted spray attack and get the death rippers to get behind the caster with the Slayer in front of the warwitch as a bodygaurd.
That way the opponent has to decide to either face what is behind the two death rippers of deal with the slayer and defiler at the front effectively splitting there forces and leaving one facing open to attack. When I use this tactic I just make sure that the rear flanking death rippers are within 14 so I can still put focus on them. This works great against the Khador battle box as it only has three minis to your 5 the numbers are in your advantage.
Great video tho more like this please.
