Take On A Tabletop Challenge With Guards of Atlantis & Wargate + Win Prizes!
We managed to talk with the guys from Wolff Designa as they told us all about Guards Of Atlantis & Wargate, two of their big games which were being demoed here at the event this weekend.
We also managed to snag a prize where you could get your hands on Guards Of Atlantis itself by commenting.

No dice? I don’t believe you can play a game with no dice! It does sound interesting though.
Guards of Atlantis looks good, but I’m really interested in Warpgate – i’ll have to keep an eye out for that Kickstarter
This game sounds supercool. Love the idea of fast paced arena style combat.
Mini games rule!
A short duration, fast paced MOBA? Sounds bloody brilliant!
No dice and fast play. Sounds awesome to me!!!
The game looks cool
This game looks really cool.
new space game looks worth backing
Card driven MOBA…I’m in.
One of the main issues with similar products is that they’re just toooo dependent on the cubes of random (dice). I like the idea that this seems to be almost entirely strategic based. The board layout is interesting too as it doesn’t appear like the normal 2-3 lanes for the creeps to march down. Definitely one to take a closer look at methinks.
A nice twist on MOBA
Streamlined but deep, whelp there’s a KS I’ll be taking a very close look at. Now to take a closer look at their current game.
I don’t like MOBA’s but this sounds like a great game my group would love!
Oh an MOBA?! Say no more!
Guards Of Atlantis 11 players and 9 base! What? I will need to look at this as a party game. Marked my calendar for the Wargate KS. Thanks for the information.
Nice to see some card driven games appearing, it can give the game a nice dynamic.
Nice idea with the card driven instead of dice, looks very cool!
that looks realy nice
Like the look of Guards of Atlantis
Wow… amazing! Looks very very fun! Especially guards of Atlantis
Backed this on KS so was great to get a demo in on Guards of Atlantis. Plays very much like you would imagine a table moba would with creep killing, lane pushing and heroes levelling up.
Guard of Atlantis looks cool and no dice? Nice! I saw their KS but did not go for it (already had too much at the time 😉 ) but, Warpgate could be very nice, i will check it out.
Looking good
Really interesting concept. Would be really good to see how it plays.
lol my girlfriend always complains that I pick long games. MOBA board game looks cool.
I’ve never played a computer Moba, never been interested, but I’m curious about a board game one.
Both looking good
Warpgate I will be looking for it on KS!
card driven seems to be the way a lot of these are going. looks like fun though
That is the largest tabletop moba I have heard of.
no dice badluck. perfect game for me.
Here we are on the third and final day. It’s been a long weekend but for anyone who attended apparently a fun one. However, since it is the final day then it’s my last chance to shamelessly post as I’m going after either the 4Ground stuff or the Bushido stuff. I play Bushido here in the states. I teach it to whoever will listen, and I just try and represent it as it is. The best miniature game I’ve ever played.
Moba isn’t my thing, but I can say that the games on the tabletop looked amazing.
Cool games, looking forward to the kickstarter
Moba game without dice sounds like it could be good
I really like the idea of card drafting to do your actions. I do like rolling dice but there is a bit of luck involved but this sounds really fantastic. Some cool minis as well to boot. The generosity of the traders this year is amazing some much cool stuff.
card driven games for the win!
Dient knie the game, but looks interesting
Love the Atlantis game!
Eleven players? Crazy!
MOBA’s as board games could be interesting if designed right
Very good design have played it several times, very good balance and in know time you are experienced in game and it goes pretty fast!!!
Looks interesting.
Warpgate sounds cool, a striped down streamlined version of Twilight Imperium. Oh yeah!
Guards of Atlantis has definitely got my attention. It looks like a great game with super mechanics. As a Mythic Battle backer I’m getting impatient to get a cool miniatures boardgame on the table soon and this could scratch that itch immediately. I bet there would be an interesting comparison between this, Mythic Battles and Lords of Hellas.
I have Moooooobas
Loving the recent resurgence of card mechanics, and Atlantis look like a great little game. Wargate kickstarter date locked in!
Thanks for the show!
I liked the Guards coverage on BoW a few monthes ago
Guards Of Atlantis has a great concept, though I never tried it yet
I wonder if GoA does the MOBA better than Rum and Bones?
Guards looks really cool.
This was interesting!
The space game sounds interesting
With the success of Rum and Bones, I think MOBA style games are becoming quite popular. They are also gateway games for MOBA players to move over to board games.
This was a great show!
This looks one to try for sure
Looks interesting to play.
Awesome! I enjoy (war)games that do not use dice!
Have not played one of the MOBA tabletop games yet. Interesting that there are no dice.
Super game!
Nine or eleven players, that is a big game ….
It was fun!
Guards is a great work!
Fun games!
This is so cool!
This rox!
Wow, awesome!
