Soldiers of Chivalry - First French 'Battle' done... first English!
Finally have the first French ‘Battle’ done to form one flank of the army, by the addition of Geonese Crossbowmen. These are based on those at Crecy and lack their large Pavise shields, as they had to attack without them at Crecy as they were lost somewhere in the French baggage train!
Also done are the first unit of English Longbowmen, a well equipped unit of Retinue Longbowmen.
All Front Rank miniatures now sold by Gripping Beast.
What a Saga...
With Saga announcing the upcoming ‘Age of Chivalry’ book, I decided to test a Claymore Casting figure on a 25mm square base.
My idea is to use them on 25mm squares for Saga and then they can rank up into 50mm square blocks to be used with my multi base units for Soldiers of the Black Prince…
I also now have the first French Infantry retinue completed…
French...
Two more bases completed on the next unit of French men-at-arms.
And where the armies are so far…

Claymore Castings arrive...
First order has arrived and they are exceptional models…
Up close and personal...

Next works in progress...
Next I’m working on some units using Perry Miniatures models to build up some more heavy infantry units…
Also the first order from Claymore Castings have arrived to do two units of French… and these are the finest 28mm available for the period.
The first Men-at-Arms
A unit of French Knights and Men at Arms composed of the retinues of Bernard, Comte de Comminges, Count Tomasso II of Savoy and Jean de Hengest.
