the jet fighter vs propeller, when a jet comes up on the rear all they had to do was jink right and then left, and the jet would fly straight past. as the turning circle was vastly greater, the prop fighter would run away or hide in the clouds.
Jets? Now all I need are opponents!

Blood Red Skies looks clever and fun. They updated to 1950’s era jets pretty quickly and I wonder if the 1980’s era is far behind. That Cold War gone Hot seems to be a popular period to game these days.
For everyone saying that they would love to get into this game but havent yet…do it, its a great game.

My husband and I don’t have any aerial games at the moment. Blood Red Skies would be a very cool addition to our collection!
Similar to sea based games for me, I think I’m more into the figures than the game.

This is a really great game to play. The tactical aspect of it is fantastic with the Advantage and Disadvantage (clouds are your friend). The extra shoot action at the start of the turn and putting an opponent at disadvantage when tailing them makes, imo positioning key in this game.

Maybe if I’ve missed something somewhere someone could tell me, but I seem to think this is all about dogfighting? My wondering with that in mind is is there any thoughts around introducing bombers, with the bombers needing to hit an objective and the opponent needing to stop it from happening?

Jets is a natural move for Blood Red Skies but, i would stay away myself. Still very tempted to pick up this game

of the various the air combat type games this has always been the one that interests me,
My favourite image of Blood Red Skies is the one from last year, when they had this huge aircraft carrier and an air battle going on around it. I like the Pacific theatre very much and I saw before my inner eye Americans and Japanese fighting it out over and in the vast masses of dark and sky blue.
Been debating on this for ages – something about WW2 dogfights tips its over the edge of x-wing.

I tried this when it first came out and wasn’t to sure but maybe now more has been released it might be worth another crack

Blood red sky is a very nice and easy to get game. I can’t recommand it enough. Finishing half of the 5th Staffeln ZG 26 Me 110 at the moment from then I’ll paint a full squadron of Hurricane 😛
Saw the jets at their bootcamp last January and I must say they are quite stunning. Looking forward to Korea and also the ground support supplement which should arrive in the future.

Being light blue myself mesns this game is an obvious choice for me. There’s so many cool scenarios I’d love to run on the tabletop though I’m all about the props rather than jets

Used to love the Johnny Red comic strip as a kid. Introduction of Jets means there’s scope for a some interesting “what if” scenarios, as well as whole new theatres to explore.
Planes are cool but I am more excited about the ships
Love the starter – game is great and has gotten my 70+ year old dad playing games again with my 4 year old – not using a lot of the rules, but using the moving template and the dice mechanic, they will be using more rules as it goes.
Glad to see more options coming along too for the game.
My mate Jamie needs more planes, his Zeroes aren’t great.

After my first BRS game, totally love the system. Still takes some getting used to , have too much tunnel vision with the game and forget to use my cards but i guess, it’s just play the game and get used to not forgetting what i have, i normally put down the cards and that’s it for them.

I love mini planes and boats!
Love this game and am excited about 2nd gen jets but what about the 1st gen jets such as the Gloster Meteor, Shooting star, Me262, V1 & V2, oh and maybe the Vampire Think I’d be even more excited about 1st gen jets even if most of the engagements are a bit more theoretical.
Warlord certainly keep their irons in the fire, always something coming out it seems!

I was thinking just last week that I’ve seen Vietnam, WW2 and other games but I’ve not seen any big games for the Korean war. Seems Warlord are going to address that later this year, which could be interesting
