We got to stop off with the team at P-Work Wargames to talk about their new mat designs and where things are going for them in the future with terrain and more.

Have to check out PWorks
Mats can really make the game stand out, and PWorks has a huge variety. I have a couple of their print-it-yourself and tape it together versions from a few years ago. Not quite as nice as the factory printed versions but still functional. The Overlord mats would be great for any shore landing skirmish. I seem to remember a Let’s Play with pirates and natives from a while back.

It’s nice to see some more multi-purpose mats that can be used across a series of different tabletop games.

Nice to see something beyond the single terrain type on a mat. Providing a shoreline always used to be a real pain but now there is a simple unrollable solution. Thank you PWork.

I’ve been checking their website since I found out about them recently and I must say I’ve been tempted by a few of the mats.
I need a neoprene mat. The vinyl ones I have seem so inflexible compared to neoprene.

That mat is actually really versatile at this moment in time. There seems to be a surge of pirate/high seas games coming out at the same time as a pretty much constant demand for WWII beach invasion scenarios. I like what I’m seeing.

Yes, mats, give us more of them. I like the Pacific theatre in the WW II historic department, amphibious landings and all that. A map like this makes good background for that. Kraken, PWorks, fantastic.
I love the generic wasteland/rocks prints. Exceptional quality and they look amazing up close and in real life.

Things have moved on from the old green baize mat and a world away from the upside down subbuteo pitch spread over some books which is where I started out.

As I said before you can never have enough mats!!! Love PWorks mats, I have a couple of them.
I wish local stores carried some of this product. I really like what Pworks makes but I’d love to see it in person being buying it and I don’t know anyone in my area with the mats or terrain.

i understand 3×3 but why settle for half of a 6×6. More space is always better for a game and i hate the end of the world issue. if you move off, you have to move back next turn or you go home, that way, it’s abit more realistic.
some good stuff again – overlord mat looks great – maybe even work for a scaled up blood red skies.

Game mats have gotten so much better over the years. I recall back in the day we were lucky to use felt. These are very nice.

The one thing I always lack in my tabletop gaming sessions is a good gaming mat to give the game a better feel. I think the mats would be perfect for my A Song Of Fire and Ice battles.
