Warren's Germans Get Some Colour

Warren has been hobbying up a storm, and has even made a start to adding some colour to his German army.

Having had a thought on what colours will work best for these tiny fighting figures, Warren whips out his air brush and gets stuck into painting.

It’s a good jub its getting late because after seeing Warren actually painting something I now need a lie down!

Robert

Plastic shot glasses are amazing, it might have been me who suggested them. I use blue tac to stick models to the top of them – it is a cheap way to get a lot of paint handles and they are comfortable enough to hold, use them to clean brushes in, mix glue in, mix washes in. Easily cleaned so can be reused and handy when you fancy some whiskey and don’t feel like drinking out of the bottle or a coffee mug!

jodain

Great idea with zenithal highlighting might have to try it.

wolf320f

i dont know what was worse approaching warren from behind knowing he was about to whip out his little thingy to spray some chaps or that hes actually painting. At this rate what with basing and painting he will be a hobby god in next to no time

I haven’t painted any 15mm models yet. I must admit that scales smaller than 25mm intimidate me a little. I know, in my logical brain, that they don’t require the same level of detail as larger models. But, my irrational brain says I need to detail them like larger models. It gives ,e a little bit of

tgunner91

It’s not that bad. A good base coat along with strategic use of highlighting and shading gets the job done. I personally think 15mm is easier to paint than larger scales… you’ll get use to it after painting a few bases.

goatberger

Making great progress. Looking forward to seeing them on the tabletop.

msenli

You are a on a roll Warren!

rokdok

Witchery.

gobbo

Nice colors John

tmon

That angle shows Warren’s best side. 😛

ghostgundam1

I wonder if Warren would of tried to cut corners if GW`s new contrast paints were out right now. 15mm is a little small but would paint up the guns and infantry fast.

limburger

That’s something I would like to know as well …
might have to be a bit more careful so as to not to drown the models, but it has potential.

lblunchboxlb

will you be sticking with field gray for the tanks or going with a dark yellow?

alerik5

I need to resurrect my airbrush

portpanther

Really cheering you on Warren i think you are really on the money and hope you win a prize.btw welcome back to the joy of hobby ?

bubbles15

Ah right, that does it. What does my bloominn’ airbrush work ok for 5 minutes, then bubble out the side, then not spray at all?

I’ve cleaned the blighting thing yet it seems to hate me.

darkdanegan

I reckon once they are based they’ll look absolutely fine for gaming. It’s all about the base. No rebels.

brucelea

Cracking on well , especially for this time on a Friday. I doff my cap to you sir, now grab the dunkelgelb and get a lick of paint on those PAK40s ??

olliep

Warren painting minis? The end is coming!! 😀

antiphony

I am still trying to get the courage to use an air brush.
I need some sort of air brush painting series to help encourage me. could be the guy to make it happen.
Loving your work and enthusiasm. Project your army!

osbad

I think will be pleased to see we got a rear view of

zorg

Looking good their warzan flying along through your troops.

jemmy

Let´s introduce WHHT: Warren´s Handy Hobby Tips. Bicarbonate, building up a colour finish, and much more.

astralwraith

Will be interesting to see how these turn out

coachjose59

I’ve always felt with 15mm soldiers. It’s the basing that makes them look great, far more then the paint job, well done warren!

tonka73

Nice to see Warren with his Hobby mojo ….

lorddraconum

Looks like Warren is enjoying himself with getting his army together.

skodamarine

Plastic shot glasses in your painting box….. That is a good tip.
That way I could have a drink when my air brush inevitably clogs 🙂

wilco92

just needs a wash after the airbrush no need to be a black primer

gmatt55

slap it on brother lol

blackspiral

Good idea to airbrush the whole bunch! Get those minis on the table!

petey9

Warren isn’t just basing now!

andre77

I happy to see Warren doing some paint work. I am eager to see the result. I hope he will wash them too.

while

Good luck Warren!

somegeezer

15mm ought to suit me better. I have a tendency to get bogged down with larger minis. The most success I had finishing armies was 6mm Epic. I got tons done.

radegast6

I’m not sold on i don’t want to touch it with brush and painted army…I wonder how this will look at the end.

fireblarney

I’m interested to see how this turns out, great idea though.

lupa15

That’s a really easy way of painting up the Germans.

buggeroff

I’m in @warzan….. want all 3!!!!!

dammitprawn

Is Warren painting Arse-tra militarum?

falerox

From the vantage of the camera they’re looking good!

longshotte

Looking forward to seeing the videos with Warren’s completed army.

uptrebor

Better not be 50 shades of grey lol

dominican40k
