Flames Of War D-Day Day One Draws To A Close

That’s it for Day One of the Flames of War D-Day Boot Camp. Even as we finish up, people are still feverishly hobbying to get their armies ready.

Make sure to come back tomorrow to see how the Boot Campers get on in their games of Flames of War, and remember to leave a comment for your chance to win one of three Flames of War Bundles.

This is pretty exciting. Couldn’t follow live, but I’m catching up with the day’s activities now. Really cool concept guys, appreciate it.

lawnor

Don’t you ever bring the pub to you for these weekends? Do a quick off licence run for everyone and stock up on beer and pretzels?

jodain

Being following Day 1, but working in the morning and the in-laws arrive for a visit, so will have to catch-up on day 2. Mind you on Sunday I’m at Broadside in Sittingbourne helping run the club participation game, so will have to catch-up on Day 3 as well.

tankgeek

Argh I’m trying to get my bolt action finished and am now dragging out my old unfinished late war fow Americans. Going to be a summer of Normandy for sure. Looking forward to tomorrow’s update. Nice one guys

abcwarrior38

Great job lads, enjoy your evening because WAR begins tomorrow!

calsufonians

Looks like great fun! And commemorating an event that should never be forgotten!

zorg

2019 invasion postponed due to lack of fit troops? Lol

Folks, send those new players over to the Flames OF War Ireland Facebook page. I’ve been trying to get new players into the game for years, but the scene nose dived after the release of V4. We used to have 5-6 tournaments a year. There were 2 last year and there has be 1 this year, with a grand total of 5 participants. We need more interest in the game accross the whole of Ireland!

I’d really appreciate if you would name drop our page and we can have a chance at rebuilding what was once a fantastic Flames Of War community across the whole of Ireland.

avernos

I’ll poke the guys in the morning, some of the attendees are even resident in ireland… most aren’t mind you

cwen

Many thanks. I think one of them joined today. I’d love to get the game back on its feet again.

goatberger

Thanks for all the great Day 1 coverage. Looking forward to following Days 2 and 3.

khy0te

So are the youngbloods able to go to the pub? They don’t look old enough, I know the UK drinking age is lower than here in the USA but they still look too young.

avernos

no they had to stand outside in the rain while the others drank 😉

daegren

Really wish I could have made this one.

tgunner91

Lucky! I’m a teacher who’s still in school… But at least I can catch the weekend activities.

Having played warhammer for many years, I’m really excited about the idea of this game. Been a huge ww2 buff my entire life, so if you’re telling me I can slam panzer’s down my opponents throat on the tabletop I’m IN! Look forward to tomorrow’s coverage guys.

tradventure

Just getting started in this awesome game, stoked for the informative blog posts!

ghostgundam1

Would be awesome if your American counterparts over here had a place to do bootcamps on this side of the pond. So jealous.

hannahj

I served on the USS Normandy CG60 for 4 years. We had a challenge coin made in the style of one of the Higgins boats making it’s landing along with the badges of every company that made landing.

capt-conscript

Looks like a good time

Awesome stuff guys. So wanted to go, but with three kids below 5 it was too hard a sell. Well in due time I can convert them into players I guess:)

Thanks for day 1!

fireblarney

Great first day. Warren skipping the pub to stay back late, if that’s not hobbying dedication and enjoyment I don’t know what is!

intelligentmistertoad

There is always a ‘Christmas morning from Childhood’ vibe about the Friday at a Beast’s of War Bootcamp. You get a fantastic new set of miniatures, and have to unwrap and build them so you can start gaming!

buggeroff

the best part of the bootcamp….. the pub. Beer’s and talking shite 😀

dammitprawn

Yay pub!

falerox

What a great first day, looking forward to the next!

longshotte

Looks like everyone had a lot of fun. I know that I would have.
