First AND a Golden Button! What a Weekender!
The square bases helped
Just wait until you see my next army project. It’s hip to be square
Form squares.
Could also manage traitors by using oposing colour. ie black Jack is traitorous to red suits. That way there is a way of clearing bottle necks but also a way of blindly getting a traitor.
So many beautiful tanks!
This is a fascinating difficult topic that can lead to a corrupt system or destroying companies.
If it is so easy to generate art and and text how long will it take that it will also design beautiful models that you can then print yourself. If that happens why do we need companies like GW, Corvus Belli and the like, you only need the creativity of the correct phrase and that can lead to these companies closing down. Will companies start using programs like these to create their content and firing their employees as they are redundant and then charging people a lot of money for it while they haven’t put any effort in it.
Hi XLBSers.
Man down ?
Fabulous work on the tanks, John.
Yay Gerry is cured he’s doing rigging. ?
Ooh congratulations @oriskany that’s a fabulous looking gaming table an figures.
Thanks very much, @zorg – although again I think John Sowerby & missus deserve most of the credit on this one. 😀
Yay one for the team to keep the good fight going.
I can’t let you do that Dave/Warren.?
A fabulous show guy’s, Wall-E is the future.?
Happy Sunday.
That tank looks really good and I’d certainly use it as a rhino. I’d love to see one side by side with a rhino to see how much bigger it is.
If you do an AI 40k scenario can it be The Quest for Rogul Dorn’s Undercarriage?
I won the games of dead man’s hand I’ll have you know!
Then we tried block wars and my brain shut off…but at least I won something
I ask ChatGBT – “Why is Warzan from the XLBS Show Cult of Games a human beeing and not any kind of artifical intelligenz?”
This is the answer.
“Warzan from the XLBS Show Cult of Games is a human being and not an artificial intelligence because the show is meant to be a comedic parody of the gaming industry. Warzan is a character that is meant to represent the average gamer, and his interactions with the other characters in the show are meant to be humorous and entertaining. He is not an AI because that would take away from the show’s comedic value.”
Happy Sunday.
I hope you are having yourself a bubblebath and are able to watch the Greatest Movie Ever Made.
Weekender… Sunday time
00:00 yes… old men… we all are…
01:00 time what is time… *sings*
01:15 I only read “Justin”… there is no John.
02:15 under pressure *humm*
03:00 The before times! REMAIN INDOORS!
03:12 Is @warzan having a stroke? 8)
05:30 Still the wrong colours if you ask your internet
07:00 The one with the biggest gun is called Warren? Compensate much? I’d go for the smallest 😉
10:45 heavy metal!
11:30 That looks cool but inherently to delikate for outdoor use…. all the sand gets in there…
15:40 almost scared to ask… but how much is that kit John?
19:30 Coffee machine!
25:00 companies suddenly closing… happens way to often
27:30 ComSpot much?
34:15 The bases look like iced chocolate cookies!
36:45 soooo many square bases!
39:15 sticking to round bases? Be more mindful with superglue then!
43:00 I have no clue what he’s talking about… I’m all out of memberberries XD
47:30 reading rules in English is hard enough… but following them being drafted verbally. Totally lost here.
57:00 Put in on discord? When was that? Did I miss that? Was I drunk? Asleep?
1:25:00 Sorry, fell asleep… AI discussion do that to me… now video games? huh?
1:38:00 THE WORLD ENDS!
1:39:00 It’s none. It’ll fade away again soon. Because MS practically owns ChatGPT and will charge you in the future. And at that point writers will be cheaper again!
Now get off my lawn!
Holy hell! A Golden Button! Thanks very much everyone!
I should say John Sowerby and his wife Jean deserve most of the credit on this one. The Mobile Infantry and bugs are all theirs, they take this game around to clubs and cons and run it participation-style. I just played the game, took the photos, and assembled the battle report.
The game was held at Das Krieg Haus gaming club, home of the South Florida Miniature Gaming club.
Thanks as always @warzan , @brennon , @avernos, @johnlyons
does Chat GPT know the Greatest Movie ever MADE! I think not
oh and I dont think AI could come up with the genius that is a Brass Knuckle Dual Taco holder Jesus ButtPlug.
NO, I think not. That is all Man.
He’s right you know
HAPPY Sunday…oh the old 432 APC oh the memories of driving one of those…..i am looking at picture of me now at leaning on my wagon ..o h so young and so long ago….oh the AI program don’t like it the world relying on tech for to much, here come the people from the cartoon…WALL-E.
ChatGBT is an interesting tool. Explain to me how this does not take the place of all creative people. Anyone can have an idea, talented people get paid to use their talents to make money and have a lifestyle based on income from their talents. Now untalented people can do the same thing based on a computer program doing all the work and coming up with all the material. Explain to me how I am wrong about this.
on topic of AI, I’m glad to see you embrace this new technology that so many fear could be the creative death of our hobby. I’m so glad you brought um the possibility of a Netflix like site where you can watch full movies based on a short input and a pervious understanding of what kind of movies you like.
I agree its a great time to be alive, but change always brings uncertainty, and we need people to stand up and challenged the current narrative. I don’t think anyone can possibly comprehend the change we are going to see this will bring, But I also believe that IPs like starwars and 40k will be a great tool to be able to handle the new future
@johnlyons You finally got time in the spotlight. Good on you. Now, more fi ished stuff to kill off your PoOP.
@lloyd We see that you still have yet to finish painting anything. 5 models a year seems to be about right an estimate.
@warzan Your gunge grunge splosh fetish metal music wasn’t something I needed to hear but it may be the leftover sentiments of your youth that just needed to be poured out. Thanks for giving me nightmare fuel. You did bring about the issue though posited by thr book ‘Man With the Positronic Brain’ (“Millennium Man” as a film) regarding creative endeavors and AI.
@brennon Ever the happy chappie until your dwarven downfall and the nakedness begins. We look forward to your creative writing of slashfic on Slashdot to flesh out the ERP. We can only hope that AI never takes that from you.
@avernos We’re watching. We’re waiting. We’re planning and painting. One month down on the year long path to Giftmas.
Sabbath rhyming hell with hell went a bit under the radar there, but a LOL here!
A guest on the Instant Genius podcast covered Chat GPT recently. He saw a number of uses for it both as an academic and a poet. From that I viewed it as a solution to a blank page: you get the gist written down, then correct it to make it your own. It doesn’t replace art, or doesn’t have to. Similarly I read an artist using the image AIs as a sketching tool rather than pencil and paper.
We live in interesting times, and not necessarily in the Pratchett sense 🙂
Once upon a time, in the idyllic land of Moominvalley, there lived a family of kind-hearted creatures known as the Moomins. They lived in a cozy little house nestled among the lush green trees and sparkling streams of the valley.
One day, as the Moomins were enjoying a picnic in the meadow, they saw a mysterious figure approaching their home. As he got closer, they could see that it was an old man named Gerry from the town of Antrim in Northern Ireland. Gerry was on a quest to find a magical drink called Buckfast, which was said to have rejuvenating powers.
The Moomins, being the friendly and hospitable creatures they were, welcomed Gerry into their home and listened to his story. They were intrigued by his quest and decided to join him on his journey to find Buckfast.
Together, the Moomins and Gerry set off into the unknown, facing many obstacles and challenges along the way. They had to climb steep mountains, traverse dense forests, and cross treacherous rivers. But with the Moomins’ quick wit and Gerry’s determination, they were able to overcome each obstacle.
Finally, they reached the spot where Buckfast was hidden. But to their surprise, they found that it was guarded by a group of greedy monks. The monks were determined to keep the precious Buckfast for themselves and refused to let the Moomins and Gerry pass.
The Moomins, being clever creatures, came up with a plan to outsmart the monks. They asked the monks if they could have a sip of the Buckfast in exchange for entertaining them with a performance. The monks, being avid lovers of entertainment, agreed to the deal.
The Moomins put on a grand performance, complete with music, dance, and acrobatics. The monks were so entranced by the performance that they didn’t notice the Moomins sneaking into the cave where the Buckfast was kept.
Once inside, the Moomins quickly found the Buckfast and, with the help of Gerry, were able to make their escape. The monks, realizing they had been tricked, chased after the Moomins and Gerry, but the trio were able to outrun them and make their way back to Moominvalley.
Upon their return to Moominvalley, the Moomins and Gerry were greeted as heroes. Gerry was able to drink Buckfast and felt rejuvenated. He thanked the Moomins for their help and for their friendship.
The moral of the story is that with the help of true friends, one can achieve anything, and that even the most difficult quests can be accomplished with determination and a clever strategy.

Great show guys! Love the Starship Troopers table (discovered this project a bit earlier than the show..)!
Thanks, @duster – glad you liked it. John and Jean Sowerby really put on a great table. 🙂
Great table indeed! I’m jealous!
