Hirh Khan is a total beast! He almost feels like you’re playing out of tier. Make sure to use him well :).
The thermo knights are good, the same goes for the Khor warriors. Unfortunately the warriors of the plains (all variants) are pretty sub par. Even more unfortunately the game’s designers obviously want you to use lots of warriors/veterans of the plains and keep the Khor warriors and thermo knights to a minimum. If you try to field a Khor warrior & thermo knight heavy list you’ll be outnumbered and crushed. It seems the intent is for you to have a small elite group of Thermo knights of Khor warriors with lots of “naked little barbarians” as support to get in the way, prevent flank charges and, most importantly, because ganging up in combat grants more attacks to your Thermo warriors and Khor knights. It also gives more attacks to the warriors of the plains but they won’t hit anything anyway.
This kind of happens with all factions. Low level support troops can’t do very much in combat and exist purely to make the big giant monsters more powerful by granting them extra attacks. And the dwarfs only have 1 giant (and it’s an actual giant). Most other factions have 2 or 3.
