WiP. I got a couple of the GW 40K magazines with the minis on the front. I imagine that Tyranids will make a good Monster option.

All the ridged fleshy areas (the long thin ridged eyelet ovals that look like maybe a chunk in the armour) I paintes with a thin coat of Mephiston Red. I coated the model in a thin coat of water and painted all the flesh parts with Shish Purple contrast.

Then all the carapace harder areas got several thin lines of Xereus Purple. The zenith prime did a lot of good work, but it also meant the the purple stripes on some of the darker areas were lost. I added a Carroburg Crimson shade to all the wing parts. All the bone parts had a thin Zandri Dust base, a Seraphim Sepia wash and a Wraithbone drybrush / highlight.

On the finished version you might be able to see the thin stripes I added in Emperor’s Children pink to bring out the stripes more.
