Attack Bikes Resurrection!
Behind the Idea
The Crimson Fists
I’ve been playing Warhammer 40k since the 90s. At some point I’ve read the “Crimson Tears” Soul Drinkers series book and instantly fell in love with the Crimson Fists presented there. Back then I already had a huge, painted collection of a self made Chapter, as such I’ve forced myself to stay on course. Years passed and at a time of 7th edition release I took a break from 40k. Got back mid-ninth edition and decided to start a brand new Space Marines army. At that point in time I was a completely different hobbyist, much evolved and with a sophisticated range of tools. I took on the idea of a Crimson Fists army…
Compared to my old army where I aimed at getting every codex entry multiplied by three, I started the Crimson Fists more as a continuous side HOBBY project. After painting a playable list, I then added one to two units each month. sometimes nothing at all. The army grew slowly as I focused on expanding the variety rather than numbers…
This leads us to the current point in time. I already have a rather solid collection with most of I’d like to play at tournaments with. A few entries might use a double (or a triple) but I’d rather add miniatures I like the looks of. Stuff I don’t like (the goofy stuff such as Centurions) I mostly skip or have a single copy of.
BUT…
I already have a solid number of Outriders and really dig the looks of bikes. Last codex indroduced mixed squads of Outriders and Invader ATVs and… I really wanna get those wheels spinning! except ATVs look goofy as fuck! -_-
Here’s where the idea popped up! Old school Attack Bikes based on my existing (painted) outriders to sprinkle in some of that ATV love, but keep the theme as far from toy cars as possible…
