Attack Bikes Resurrection!
Execution
…Without further adieu I took on the Attack Bike project. The main goal was to use the already painted Outriders and add a detachable cart so I can use these as both the Invader ATV and the Outrider depending on list ideas.
First I looked up the ‘Internets’ for a suitable cart STL. I run into McFarlaine scale version and liked the looks of it and that it had no driver incorporated into the cart. Had to downsize the thing though and the lengthy process of trial and error started.
If I was to start from scratch I’d probably use Dark Age Designs, which is now Apex Tabletop – these are pretty much perfect. But I was tumbling in the dark and as such I had to cut and convert the riders, resize stuff to fit and add proper textured wheels taken from the original ATV.
Was quite a ride! First I’ve picked two of my Outriders as a base for the Attack Bikes. I then cut 40mm bases so that they fit to the oval Outriders base and then put the side-carts together. Finally glued them to the smaller bases on a set of supports so that they fit the Outriders poses. Finally I put a magnets at the undersides of all bases and glued a piece of exacto blade to the side-carts bases so that they ‘click’ into place and stay attached to the Outriders.
That’s basically how the story ends. Will be running both ‘ATVs’ at the upcoming event. With the base they fit the Invader size pretty well and got greenlighted by the event organizers. Wish me luck!

PS: Lemme know if you’d like to get to know more about the army. This is my magnum opus and I’d happily talk about the project 😛
