Draconis does….. The Silver Bayonet
Ghosts
1st July 2025
Back to the enemy minis for the coop campaign (that we will hopefully get to start soon… it’s been a while now ☹ ).
Keeping in the spirit (no pun intended) of using minis I already own, I dug out my Reaper Bones KS Haunts. Two of them are too large, but three will work.
The minis are a translucent green plastic, so in order for them to ‘read’ a bit better on the tabletop I decided to give them an ivory drybrush followed by a white drybrush, to create some definition. Unfortunately they don’t photograph well, but it does help irl.
I had to trim the bases on two of them to get them to fit, then they were glued down, and some basing sand added, then painted brown and washed with nuln oil.
The sword wielding ghost had a gravestone on its base, so I decided to focus on this one first.
I painted the stone in grey, picked out the skull at its base then gave them both a nuln oil wash.
I followed this up by trying to add a glow effect. Started out with a thin green wash, then painting on warpstone glow, followed by some edge highlights with warpstone glow mixed with a bit of ivory. I also added the glow to the base area close to the ghost.
When adding the flock I felt the glow didn’t quite pop enough, so I gave it a light drybrush of ivory to bring it up a little.
The other two ghosts had the glow effect added to their bases. The skull head chap made me debate whether to paint it as a full actual skull. I decided to keep it as a ghost, but try to give it some more interest by adding glowing eyes…
I added some ghost eyes to the female ghost as well, followed by some basing. They all had a matt varnish coat, as I found that some of the drybrush white was rubbing off the green plastic with minor handling.
