Let there be Light!
(re)Assembly instructions
In the long long ago I had improvised a structure to hold lights, because when doing hobby there is no such thing as ‘enough’ lights.
While I had posted pictures of the sort of final assembly and a short list of materials used it was a bit underwhelming.
And because I am re-assembling the entire rig in my hobby room I used the opportunity to document the details.
Parts list
- 6 x T-connectors for 32 mm PVC
- 4 x Elbow connectors for 32 mm PVC
- 2 x +/- 60cm 32 mm PVC tube (or whatever depth you need it to be)
- 4 x +/- 40cm 32 mm PVC tube (or whatever height you need it to be)
- 2 x 9 cm pieces of PVC tube (center of the construct)
- 2 x 22 cm pieces of 32mm PVC tube (use longer pieces for extra width)
- (optional) 5-10 cm pieces of PVC tube (for added stability)
Cutting PVC tubes can be done with a fine toothed saw, but you will get much cleaner cuts with a (PVC) tube cutting tool. The connectors do hide the cut, so it isn’t that important.
The more important thing to keep in mind is that you buy connectors that fit the tube on all sides.
Assembly is fairly straighforward. Once you are happy you can use PVC glue from the DIY store to fix things in place. I have noticed that the friction of the fit is pretty good, so you could leave things as is.
