Sláine: Kiss My Paintbrush!
Caesarians - the minions of Elfric
In the graphic novel ‘Demon Killer’, Slaine it transported through time to help Boudica against the Caesarians led by “a friend of Nero”, Elfric the demon from the El dimension. This is one of my favourite Slaine storylines so I was always going to add some Caesarians to support Elfric in his battles. Models are Victrix Imperial Romans Advancing. Painted with AP Speedpaints over the high contrast zenith undercoat I’ve detailed already. The only change was using Polished Silver with a Nuln Oil wash, rather than the NMM approach I took before.
These are intended for use in Midgard as opponents for my Earth Tribes. I’ve deliberately broken the rule about maximum hero value in a force here by taking 115 points of heroes and only 85 points of troops in this 200 point force. That’s how I want it and I run the games so my players will go with what I’ve set up.
Here’s the whole force:
Elfric is Level 4, the Centurion Level 3 and the Optio Level 2. There is a unit of El Women who are a combination of Medium Cavalry and Light Infantry Skirmishers traits. Finally 2 units of Caesarian legionaries.
The force is quite different to the others as these hit very hard and Elfric is the only Level 4 hero in my game so far. They should prove an interesting challenge to the Earth Tribes.
