Almost there
I decided that all the equipment on the chest needed another highlight. It would be black and white edges because I would really have wanted a metallic for some of this if I had access to more colour options.
I had missed that the ring was in his lip somehow. Without a metallic I ended up trying to make it look like a rusty brown in the end.
I was happy with it at this point, but the extra back fire piece of foliage idea had only just come to me.
I decided to do more on the boots. There was too much plain black on the model. I mixed black and the screaming pink and gave it a pink and red highlight.
I didn't have access to shades but occasionally I would just water down a brush full of black and use that. It wasn't exactly Nulin Oil but it did push me to highlight and layer areas back up for some increased depth and interest.
