Bavaria Miniatures has started previewing some more of the Franco-Prussian War figures they are going to be working on soon. The French Imperial Guard are on the way but I also thought this would be a neat way to look at what Bavaria has done before, too!

French Imperial Guard - Bavaria Miniatures

This is just one of the new French Imperial Guard sculpts coming out of the folks at Bavaria, sculpted by Lucas Luber. This Officer represents some of Napoleon III's elite soldiers that will eventually become one part of a future Kickstarter campaign. "Much more is on the way", teased Bavaria over on social media.

Kingdom of Bavaria - 1864-1870

Whilst I could just have shown off that one miniature, I also thought this was a good time to showcase some of what Bavaria Miniatures has produced in the past. They have run a couple of Kickstarter campaigns in the past, The Roaring Lions and The Roaring Lions 2, covering the Bavarian army for the Franco-Prussian War and the period of 1870.

Those miniatures are now available over on their webstore. There are loads of infantry options, complete with different uniforms and helmets for you to tinker with if you want to get into the specifics.

All of the miniatures from Bavaria are in 28mm scale and come as either white metal, physical miniatures OR you can go down the 3D printing route. If you go with the STL files, then you can get some good bundle deals where you can snag all the files to print a full army.

Mounted Generals - Bavaria Miniatures

That's not to say you can't sink your teeth into some good deals with the physical miniatures. You can also pick up a range of metal bundles focused on infantry, light skirmishers and cavalry. You can also pick up some rather swanky-looking Generals and such to lead the way on the battlefield (see above).

Artillery Loading - Bavaria Miniatures

All of these kits look fantastic and expand the options available for those fighting out battles in the 1800s. I would imagine that we're going to be seeing the Bavarians expanded somewhat in the future, alongside the likes of the French that we saw the preview for at the top of this article.

If you're a fan of black powder-style wargames, you've got no shortage of options nowadays. Did you back one of the Bavaria Miniatures Kickstarters and if so, what did you think of the kits that landed on your painting table?

Drop your thoughts below...
