Hunker Behind Pre-Painted Fortress Walls With Gale Force Nine
February 11, 2026 by brennon
Gale Force Nine expands its Epic Scale range with the brand-new Mundus Imperialis: Fortress Walls. This builds on the existing Gothic Sector collection, all pre-painted and ready for use with Sci-Fi wargames between 8mm and 10mm.
Epic Scale Fortress - Gatehouse // Gale Force Nine
All of the terrain comes from Gale Force Nine's partner in crime, Thunderhead Studio. They have worked on some more stunning epic-scale terrain that would be brilliant for wargames like Legions Imperialis, BattleTech, Dropzone Commander, Armoured Clash, Epic Warpath and more.
Epic Scale Fortress - Straights // Gale Force Nine
All of the terrain can be slotted together to give you a tabletop-ready set of fortress walls for you to defend in an asymmetrical game on the tabletop. You have plenty of space for you to set up your troops atop this imposing structure.
Epic Scale Fortress - Corners // Gale Force Nine
The full set currently contains the Fortress Gatehouse, Straights, Corners and Ends. All of them are modular, so you can mix and match your setup, giving you plenty of ways to fight inside and outside of this structure.
Epic Scale Fortress - Ends // Gale Force Nine
As you will have noted from this article, all of the terrain follows in the footsteps of other Battlefield In A Box ranges in that it is all pre-painted and ready to go. Simply crack it out of the box and set it up on a gaming mat and you're ready to go.
Epic Scale Fortress // Gale Force Nine
You can mix this in with more from the Gothic Sector in order to create a fully defended cityscape. With the addition of some of the ruins and other buildings, you could have a rather dynamic-looking battlefield.
Could this tempt you and if so, what wargame will you be playing with it?

“Epic terrain for tiny tanks” I like that line XD
Weird they don’t mention Mantic’s Epic Warpath in the ad blurb of compatible games.
Not compatible. Won’t work. Nope.
Tiny Weee Walls for Tiny Weee Men, some might say Epic!
Man, that default paintjob is just sad.
It’s just so grey, and sad, and whatever.
Gives you a good base to work up from them if you crack out the airbrush/paint brushes.
@brennon NOOOOO! Grey and sad is just the way this was meant to be. No colours! No airbrush! How dare you, sir?!?
It may be that the orange is just absolutely the wrong choice for the other color or something, I don’t know. A rare case of “maybe you should try with pictures of unpainted product”
They are fabulous looking defensive wall’s they should work for medieval type battles or futuristic wars too
