Mantic Games has introduced a new TerrainCrate release for those seeking to create a fun Fantasy tabletop packed with terrain for games like Kings of War and beyond. The Fantasy Battlefield Pack can be pre-ordered right now.

Fantasy Battlefield Pack - Mantic Games

This new set from Mantic gives you enough to cover a 6x4-foot tabletop, the standard for a lot of Fantasy wargames that you might play. It comes with a selection of card, plastic and neoprene elements that can come together to give you an interesting and modular battlefield without much hassle at all.

For example, the set comes with three easy-to-assemble punchboard card buildings, which you can build permanently, or flatpack them away for those with a lack of storage options. The three buildings are the Cottage, the Chapel and the Town House.

Each of these kits makes sizable buildings, as you can probably tell and will give cover for infantry moving around on the battlefield as well as some monsters and war machines. Being full colour, it also means that you don't have to deal with painting them.

This set also comes with more pre-coloured elements, namely the Neoprene Templates that you see below.

These have been designed so that you can use them to effectively mark locations on the battlefield and the footprint of woods, farmland and other elements of the tabletop that you and your opponent need to be aware of. This, combined with the plastic trees, tree stumps, walls, wall corners and gates, means that you can create some area terrain without needing endless little bits and pieces.

This set also comes with all-important flat-topped plastic Hills which will give you a good vantage point for firing missile weapons at the enemy. A well-placed cannon would look good up there.

All of this comes together in the Fantasy Battlefield Terrain Pack, which comes in at the fairly reasonable price of £80. As you can see, it looks pretty good when it has all been set up on the tabletop! It also works very well with the recommended Terrain Set-Ups from the new Kings of War 4th Edition Rulebook.

This also makes this a really solid buy for someone looking to introduce more terrain to a club collection or a store. Mantic Games has even put together a four-pack club set (which you can find HERE) that could be great for getting a lot of tabletops looking good quickly. Perfect for all of those tournaments that you're setting up for the new edition of Kings of War or perhaps even Kings of War Champions.

This can also be combined with other bundle offerings from Mantic, which include gaming mats of different environments and objective markers to match.

Could this be a pack you'd consider for your own Fantasy battlefields at home?
