You are not kidding, thats a tiny little fleet! It looks great at a distance, gives a true feeling of the massive scale of the naval battles.
Kudos to Commedorerob for sapping all the energy out of the Older Wargamers (like me) and giving it to the youngsters igniting their enthusiasm for Glorious Naval Combat.
I like that last image best, really hits on the scale of the battles themselves and the huge distances they covered.
They 6mm ships?
If you don’t like building terrain, then this is the game for you.
Tiny ships, big board… really enthusiastic guy!
Great stuff @commodorerob !
My friend was only saying it would be good if there was a naval battle game. Now there is
Cool stuff
Really dig the scale for those ships. means so truely massive engagements.
Have a great day Rob – looks like a great effort!
yeh 3d World of warships lol
Looks quite interesting.
I’m just getting into naval wargaming during the first half of the 20th century myself; what rules are you using, and what would you recommend to a new naval wargamer?
@commodorerob
I wouldn’t mind giving this a try, gives you a true sense of scale and range.
Great looking game there
Thanks guys, my phone died half way through the day so only just seen the kind comments.
Although I have to say I would love to take all the credit, the ships are mine, although not all painted by me…yes I do have stuff I have not painted. The rules were not my design, this was a Naval Wargames Society joint effort.
If all comes to pass with a little project I am working on with BoW then you will all be able to play this rule set.
As for the ships they are actually 1/3000th scale so much much smaller than 6mm. But just to put it in perspective if we were to do the entire battle of Jutland in 1/3000 th scale we would probably need a table about 10 times as large as that to do it justice…It would make the BoW table for Hoth table look small..lol but I do have the ships to do Jutland in 1/3000th scale:-)
Looking forward to it then.
So when are you doing Jutland?
Would love to see a full battle report of that.
Must make all the comments… must Win prizes!
No prizes here…well not that I know of…lol
I was on the lookout for some ships of this sort of scale but drew a blank.
This unfortunately is one of the issues with Naval wargaming… The ships we used were a combination of Skytrex ( davco) and Navwar the range has been around for a long time. Skytrex sold their molds to Heroics and Ros I think, and Navwar is a very strange set up.
However if the plan comes together we will be covering all the suppliers 🙂
interesting
