We've had some neat looking Pylons in from 4Ground. We give you a quick update as to the building of these structures before we add them to the gaming tables later today...

Very dangerous for the choppas :))

mo3355

I saw the spot on their website showing this range is coming. Can’t wait to see more of it!

krieger

A few simple thing like these pylons or a supermarket as simple additions to bring the old world war 2 battlefield in to the 80’s is really smart. It quickly gives you the “feel” of a more modern period, even with older buildings!

panzertanker64

Very nice , oh keep building John

jocke

Hm… looks intresting… have to see them on a table in actual gameplay…

warhammergrimace

Looks good, will they work for 20mm as well

berdennol

How they interact with air assets will be interesting.

ancientsound

Some real nice stuff from 4ground as normal almost

neves1789

Awesome! 4Ground really keeps up with the latest!

fjhamming

Those will be on my wishlist next birthday

redbaron13

I was looking at the 4ground stuuf at Crisis in Antwerp, not much 15mm yet.
Shame I didnt see these, they really make a modern battlefield.

tmsmnns

Are those completely in metal or is it wood with a metal paint on it? If the second is the case, does it work with the exposed sides of the wood?

blipvertus

It’s painted MDF. I have a lot of 4Griund stuff. It’s really very nice.

fireblarney

I don’t think I’ve ever not liked something out of 4Ground

weversberg

4ground is great

rollsk1

Can some one tell me when said pylons will be available? I need about 4 of them for TY and dropzonze comander( i know its the wrong scale but the just have to represent an even lager powerhub )

zetazot

Hinds no like

oriskany

Man, you said it, . It’s hard enough getting six Hinds on a four-foot table. Seriously, the rotors on these things are 7 inches wide, so even lining them up in a simple line, comically close, with rotors practically touching . . . the Hinds are 42″ wide. That’s practically the whole 48″ table. But now we have to watch out for these gigantic helicopter traps, too? 🙁 🙁 🙁

badgers2001

A great idea. To bring it into the 21st century, I hope 4Ground are thinking of doing cell phone towers.

zwiebel

A great addition for every modern battlefield.

majorswotwot

I remember reading somewhere that power lines could mess with atgm guidance irl. Wonder if that is true.

spaced2020

If they are ‘wire’ guided this is true as the wire can snag on intervening terrain like trees and power lines.

oriskany

I have read that chain-link fences were nightmares for the older generation wire-guided ATGWs, especially when launched from ground units. Back then, a thin fiberoptic wire had to spool out all the way from the missile to its launcher, sometimes 5000 meters of it. If the missile flew over a chain link fence, dragging this wire behind it, and it snagged and snapped, the operator would lose control of the missile.

Later generations became less prone to this mishap because they would only trail say 100 feet of wire or so . . . they would use this as a fiber optic “antenna” that would transmit camera images and guidance to and from the operator. Much less prone to getting snagged on bushes, fences, etc.

izeman82

a necessity for the battlefield!

thardinger

Now that’s groovy ill need a dozen of them now.

sircaroon15

I want some of those for my table!

elburgo

These are fantastic, but since it hasn’t been said “you must construct additional pylons”.

redyeti

Haha! i see what you did there

redyeti

Oh my gosh those are great! they are timeless too, (well wwI and upwards i guess) even sci fi games would work with those. Maybe they can do some 28mm ones as well?? I don’t care how big they end up =P The bigger the better!!

fox40

4grounds products are so good, I have several of their houses and the jail
Love putting together their kits

zorg

very dodgy for flyers will look brill for the tables.

stamp

Very nice. And those will be usable for every era since then till the near future at least. That’s nice. 🙂

donlou

love the 4ground products i need to save some money and get me the 15mm pegasus bridge!

bitrider

Not sure how I saw ‘Cylons’ and not pylons… wishful thinking I guess.

oriskany

“WE WILL CAUSE ORISKANY’S HINDS TO CRASH . . .”
“BY YOUR COMMAND . . .”

razormind

very cool!

britfran45

those are very nice indeed!

daegren

4ground always put out nice products.

crazyredcoat

I really am tempted to get some 4ground stuff… I always have terrain troubles, I either don’t have enough or I haven’t painted it yet. Pre-painted buildings just sound grand.

neaceul

Those look pretty awesome. I hate painting so these being already “painted” is great. can’t wait to see what other things 4ground comes out with.

dekinrie

Very 80s with the adverts of the dangers of kite-flying near pylons always ending badly for little timmy

hawkeyedan

You must construct additional pylons

oriskany

I can tell everyone these things look amazing on the table top. All gratitude to John and the team building them for us. That is . . . until you’re trying to maneuver six Hind gunships around them. 🙂

veithchaz

4grounds terrain again looks fantastic

panzerkaput

They look very nice and very large, Wonder if they would fit 28s

capnandyman1

Great addition!!
What we need now are 15mm civilian vehicles from the 70s and 80s…

fabione

Lovely!

jhypes332

I love 4ground I think I spend more on it than minarures.

normandyfan

cool tower

agashamirv

Great, now I need more 4ground.

andymcgarry

Pylons exactly what’s needed to make the table top look modern and different from WW2. Good job Foreground.

daloonieshaman

interesting addition

redvers

Argh, new 4ground stuff. Do I have enough money?

heregrim

You must construct more Pylons!!!
