I have no use for the Stoic Arms in any game I play (yet. There are some on the horizon) but I still really want to own it to enjoy assembling the whole thing. 4Ground are almost a hobby in themselves these days.

When I originally started playing games I never really though I would be so interested in the terrain but nowadays I can’t get enough of it, especially from the two companies in this video.

Just had a thought about a use for the Stoic Arms and the Laketown terrain for Frostgrave where two wizards and their apprentices arrive at the same inn to hire their forces… think I’ll mull that one over, might be something there for the beginnings of a narrative campaign.

I really wish Battlesystems would get a US distributor. I’m really interested in their stuff, but the overseas postage on what amounts to reams of heavy card is a dealbreaker.

Stoic arms inn would work amazingly with Blood and blunder. Start with a bar fight before it spills out into the streets of a port town and then leads to a large ship fight just off the coast.

Both systems are AMAZING. I love them both for different reasons. I couldn’t decide.
Two Brilliant companies. I would definitely like to see them work together. 4Ground could build all the surface buildings and Battle Systems could make a network of sewers and dungeons to fight in underneath the city.
After 27 years of gaming, 4Ground finally made me realise how important good terrain really is to the whole tabletop experience- I’m far too idle to scratch-build my own stuff, so their kits really opened new doors for me (no pun intended)… I now have full Old West and Frostgrave tables and have never looked back! 🙂

Yes, the Stoic Arms is the classic piece of terrain. An entire campaign could be written to take place just in the confines of that piece. I should write one up, based around Jezebel, so she will have something to do when she arrives.

There are so many terrain types/styles/manufacturers, that it’s really-really hard to choose.
For once that seems to be to good of a prize. They really do a great job with the designs they come up with.

I want to pick up a stoic arms for D&D, as a reward they get blue prints for building a inn and as they are gathering resources for it of course they have to defend it while doing so.

Whenever I see these companies I realize just how gak the terrain we use is. Wonky hills, the odd tree and rock and some corner parts of buildings. Great Terrain makes for such an improved experience.
I have absolutely no use for the Stoic Arms kit but I still want one!

one our first BattleSystems setup were PDF printouts purchased through WarGameVault/DriveThruRPG… lots of different styles, price points and formats (lasercut, 3D printing, papercraft) for gaming terrain out now it’s a gamers market.

I love the 4ground buildings. I have a number of them which I use for WW2. I haven’t had a chance to get some of the battle system stuff yet but I won’t some of the zombie town stuff when it’s realesed later this year

I love the stoic arms building!! Gaming scenery has had such an increase in variety and quality in the last 5 years, you can make a gaming table that looks incredible from off-the-shelf kits. Keep up the fantastic work, 4ground and battle systems!!!!
