We're diving back into the Boot Camp today and exploring gameplay but before that an introduction to what's going to be happening today!

Those mats are amazing. I love that the game is played over a world and the way objectives work.
No one plays down at the club so not been too tempted yet but I may get some minis just for fun once I’ve cleared my painting back log.
Who shaved Justin? But yeah the Yellow looks good, look really great once there is some contrast is on there….although i will be sad if you don’t paint goggles on the front of them.

The mega station looks great on the acrylic base. When it was first mounted on the black base, my only thought was missed opportunity. Looks great and lets those mats show through!
I hope Justin’s fleet spends a lot of time flying out of the sun…
Well that colour scheme is ‘unique’.
I was thinking that about the moons in the Vlog. Was tempted to make a few and decided against it due to that reason. At the end of the day you fixed a problem and it doesn’t matter if no one uses it. 🙂

Good idea Justin about getting the Battleships on the table.
You could try an asynchronous “Take out the enemies new capital ship before it escapes” scenario. The battleship is just being launched from lowest acceptable orbit on its home planet with a few escort ships and supporting ground-based fire (that can be taken out with bombardment weapons). It has to leave the planet (table) in full orbit to join the rest of the fleet… or it needs to be stopped!

When i first saw the ‘minion’ fleet i was a little unsure but it does stand out really well, its certainly unique!!

New rule for Justin’s banana boats. If he is in close action range, he can forgo any normal attacks and use a single “banana peal” attack. Stat line reads ATTACK 1 LOCK 6 DAMAGE 0 IF HIT TARGETED SHIP SLIPS INTO ORBITAL DECAY

I am a fan of going off piste with the colour schemes, hopefully Justin gets a wash and details on there over the weekend.

I’m in it to win it! Also, I saw Justin’s fleet from the moment you left the Green Room.
It will be more interesting to see those yellow ships after they have been detailed.
I mean it is “Daemonic” yellow and we all know that if anything has the word Daemonic in it, that makes it automatically cool.

Not convinced about the yellow myself. But then, I’m concerned that my own PHR painting will end up having them look like a Christmas ornament.
Oh. My. God. Those PHR ships are simply……. yellow. There is no other way to state it, apart from them being so yellow. I will be more interested once they have some highlights, washes and toning done so that they aren’t just a flat yellow. I think if you add some black then you might turn them into ‘The Flight of the Bumblebees’.
Let’s judge the yellow when we’ve seen the shading and,err, highlights….!
I keep seeing Warren’s space station and thinking that should be a prize too! It looks amazing. And Justin, I can’t wait to see what the final version of those ships look like; yellow primer is a bold, BOLD statement. Not sure what that statement is, but it’s definitely a statement!

Yellow fleet should stand out more, but with the earth mat my eyes don’t know what to focus on. I really wanna see em in a universe mat but i understand that it wouldn’t work for dropping ground assets off.

Those mats are amazing! Justin should consider going dark grey/black with yellow accents. Tactictally that yellow colour scheme would be like a duck shooting gallery at a carnival.

Love the yellow, bumble-bees rule. Better looking visually than the drap military colors. Can really see them on those beautiful, but very visually busy mats. Spudnik Won (or should it be the Belfast Beastie?) should be yellow as well; the off-white looks like it’s just primed.

Justin can add some weathering/aging techniques by brown spotting the bananas .. err I mean ships..

I like the yellow PHR, I just think like most really bright schemes you need to get in there and do the deep-in gribbly bits in a darker color for contrast.

A bit of an old fellow whine here – on the main ‘X number of updates the pages shows a long list of videos, but to watch those videos you’re taken to another page and have to click back to get to the updates page.
It would be nice if all the videos were on the one page, but I’m not sure if that would be problematic.

Justin just has to paint a center stripe on his ships in ivory and then give the yellow portions a few flicks of black paint and they will really look like bananas.

I like the yellow… It’s a bit counter-intuitive, and perhaps isn’t an obvious match with the feel of the fluff, but the colour scheme works on its own terms.
And those mats are amazing. I agree – would love to get all three. But to use as different regions on the same planet. I’ve always been annoyed by the idea of there being ‘forest planets’ or ‘desert planets’. Why would other planets (that have interesting / useable atmospheres) be less diverse than Earth?

the station on the base was amazing, the fleet looks good and will improve with the black metallic sections being painted in.
