I for one prefer the Asian mini. The typical hat identifies him clearly as somebody connected with the far east. And he has a kind of “sensei” appearance, with his bags, bowls and cape. Finally, an Asian craving for wisdom and knowledge seems to be appropriate. Well done.

I like the look of Para Bellum’s Conquest. It’s a shame I don’t have any space in the flat for them 🙁

The first impression is really good. Have to see what other factions are coming out.

During the interview on the Weekender it was said that all the bases seen here are included. So the movement trays are in as well.

This does look like awesome fun.
And helps that it is based on the best game ever made, of course!

Alkemy: The Game will be getting two new figures, which have both been previewed on their Facebook Page . Collect Knowledge For The Jade Triad Donning his straw hat and wielding a sai comes the Collector of Knowledge. Shrouded in a mask and flowing cape, this figure looks suitably mysterious, as any true academic seeker of knowledge should. The fantasy/ninja style […] -

Is the Union Flag in the background of the art upside down?

Fantastic minis! Not to mention the paint job, which is extremely well done. Had I not already maxed out the systems I collect/play I would be all over this game. Alas…time and money…

@Koraski thanks for the offer but the shipping from the US is extortionate these days
@divineauthority thank you, if you could have a wee look that’d be lovely
@graystoak how much would you be looking for for the infantry and heroes?

Wyrd Games have previewed the pride of the King’s Empire in the battles of The Other Side ; The Royal Rifle Corps . The Royal Rifle Corps are the absolute best to have emerged from the ranks of the PBI. They have drilled endlessly to deal with a myriad of threats and their long range marksmanship makes them a force to […] -

Interesting that 4Ground have designed scenarios around their Fabled Realms terrain that can be used if it is on the table.
We don’t really make terrain, just lay out the terrain we have to make scenarios. For example this weekend we are doing a large Operation Sea Lion game of Bolt Action.

It used to be all the rage when it was the step after enamel paints. I have tried it. Personally for me it was too messy and took for ever to dry if they ever really did. There are oil paintings out there which are decades old and the oil paints still haven’t truly dried

I’m not just talking about weathering tanks here either… I’ve been watching James Wappel’s live painting sessions – there’s a lot to be learned by watching experts work. Anyway, he’s been painting anything up to 80% of his miniatures lately with Oil paints. Here’s a good example if you have some time: Link Anyway, as I […]

@georgesealy so perhaps it needs a tiny touch of white right at the hottest point to make it stand out? The rest of the model is quite dark (Army Painter Dark Tone). Either that or take the slight glow effect out of the crab hands so that the focus is purely on the furnace?

@rowen80 I have no issue with the blending, but I wonder if the issue is that the glow effect needs more contrast – the brightest part of the glow should probably be the brightest thing on the figure, to help sell the effect.
