Oh how the last 2 weekends have been sad and lonely without the BOW team to keep me company. But alas, getting ready to go to work now so I will have to watch this tomorrow……
Thank god you’re back! I was beside myself!
Oh and Happy Weekend!
Happy Weekend!
I need a dose of Weekender!
Of course we’re descended from Mushrooms . That’s why Warren is such a fun guy…..
I’ll get my coat……..
part orc part man, but which part?
Might he have any bits on him that would remind you of mushrooms?

I think that they broke the mold with Warren.
welcome back!
Really enjoyed today weekender, cheers to all.
USA Studio looks great – well done team USA! (we know it was you guys no Justin :-))
Hands up volunteering when you want to start an AU Studio – me and @beardragon14
Mate, you want me , I flattered, but I would probably be better if we weren’t forming a gaming/hobby group but a drinking/ loutish behaviour team …. 😀
if the USA studio is anywhere in CA and they need an intern let me know 😀
Glad to have the weekender back ^^ I’m really enjoying the new funny bits you’ve been putting in that last couple of months, drooling over mythic battles was awesome :p
Welcome back indeed. Para Bellum’s stuff looked cool, but roughly what scale is it?
Plenty has happened over the holidays and I’ll be interested to hear what you think of;
Star Wars (getting mixed reviews)
If there will be Star Wars Legion demo plays before release?
The lack of new Age of Sigmar faction releases? Dwarves were Dec 2016. Is AoS done?
The Fall Out miniature skirmish game by Morphius?
The re-release of Star Trek Attack Wing
The impending release of Saga II, the Sagas continue…
Welcome back from a well-deserved break. This was a great start for a new year. I loved Para Bellum’s new game. Awesome art and minis. I hope we’ll bring us a demo video soon.
Happy weekend! HappyNew Year! And Welcome Back Guys!
O_O Wow! everything for Para Bellum’s Conquest looks gorgeous, somewhat disturbing? yes, but still utterly gorgeous, can’t wait to see more 😀
TBH I’d not taken a great deal of interest in Para Bellum, but the reinforcements mechanic looks like it’ll make it a game of movement, as a rank and flank game ought to be; it’s original enough to really make it stand out.
Great to get my fix again this morning. The shakes have stopped, the headaches have cleared and I will be able to sleep again.
I love that most people will think Warren was making stuff up about the mushrooms. Best thing is it’s true we split a couple of billion years ago. Type in mushrooms and Japan on Google search if you want to see some very interesting info. Seems we may be using them soon for computer pathways and engineering plans as they are so efficient at finding the best route between two points.
Great to see Dawn and Gianna rocking a finished studio with a very shiny table. Does it have cup holders? 😀
If I remember right the Para Bellum stuff has a video feature at one of the gaming expos the guys went to and it has some lovely miniatures.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s show to set my weekend back to what it should be.
Have a good one guys.
No on the cupholders- only because I’m very protective of the pretty table! 😉
I love that Az hesitated to say prostitute on a show when Warren has already said cocks and boobs
He’s such a nice boy …. bless him
welcome back
I’m getting more interested in Para Bellum’s game, though i’m still conflicted. I like some of the art work, and i think the concepts that they are using for the universe they are creating are interesting. I’m not sure about the miniatures. I think perhaps the miniature paint jobs are putting me off. I think i’d like to be able to able to get hold of and take a look at a miniature or two, so it would be good for me if they sell some smaller packs of a few miniatures.
Was caught by surprise by Conquest at Essen 2017…looks amazing. Will be intresting to see how this goes on.
@BoW One thing: A big link to their homepage that just says “comming soon” is kinda pointless!!!
Apparently the bees are fine? There’s only been a few colonies in Hawaii that are in trouble! Well, according to some bloke on the internet who looks like he thinks he’s a scientist or something! So that must be true right? When has the internet ever lied? I’m now off on my robo-dinosaur mount to discuss matters with our Fungus overlords…see if they can work their magic and win me a Typhon pledge! (Damn that’s exciting!!!! Eeeeeeeek!)
Woohoo! I won a prize. Thanks BoW.
Happy New Year! Thanks for the Parabellum interview. I’d seen – and liked – the artwork released so far. I’d seen – and not been interested in – the miniatures.
They look much better in the paint schemes shown here, and seeing them together looks good too. The setting sounds intriguing. Although I was hoping this was going to be a big game that didn’t appeal to me, I am now interested in learning more about it.
Will look forward to the playthrough!
Para Vellum looks really good.
Starter set with 80 monk’s for about 80 euro is really good.
Sign me up for two starter sets and my brother can choose which faction he wants because I love them both so any one of them is good for me.
Oops. The auto correct changed some things. Mini’s to monk’s and Bellum to vellum. Ah well.
This setting olthough strange appeals more to me than Age of Sigmar. So I will be getting in to Para Bellum.
When is the starter set going to be released???
yay normal service now returned not that the Xmass wasn’t great.
It has indeed been like a barren wasteland, each weekend coming and going in some nihilistic misery loop where the whole world seemed like an out of focus black and white picture. Nothing tasted quite right, nothing felt quite real. I thought perhaps I had left the mortal coil and was no longer living but merely existing in some shadow parody of life in limbo. But no! This is just the effect of prolonged withdrawal from the weekender. I rejoice! orange juice is sweet again, the air smells fresh and clean and I see the world once more in a kaleidoscope of colours that would make a mantis shrimp jealous of my visual gamut.
Parabellum stuff looks great, beautiful artwork, beautiful miniatures and a world that is a nice alternative take on fantasy. Really love it, can’t wait to see the let’s play.
Hellboy is such a cool property, very excited for that, I do hope it’s more of a skirmish game/board game hybrid than a straight up board game.
Welcome back BoW!
nice to see the girls are back to bring a little balance to proceedings. looking forward to the content ladies. the idea of getting in on an airbrush seminar is a fantastic idea, hope it’s Angel.
the editing was top draw yet again.
conquests art and setting are spot on. the miniatures just aren’t working for me though, maybe one i’d proxy for as i like just about everything else.
i took a look at the fateslayer sculpts and there are one or two really nice sculpts in there. wrong time for me right now but i’d love to pick a few up at some stage.
stop salivating on my typhon pledge
Welcome back and happy new year. I hope you guys had a great holiday. I’m glad you are back.
The Para Bellum stuff looks pretty nice. When are they releasing?
I’d like the BOW team at adepticon to see if they can find out some information about the game “Witchborn”. It looks quite interesting. Another game I’ve not heard about is “Broken Contract”. I’m pretty sure the developers will be there for Witchborn not sure about Broken Contract.
Not sure filming any of the hobby sessions will be of useful. Perhaps interviewing a few of the instructors.
@zeker1966 Witchborn & Broken Contract! Got it! )writing it on the list)
I call shenanigans! That 3-up from ParaBellum has been on the shelf of the BoW studio for weeks! I was wondering when you were going to mention it or focus on it!
Another great episode though, and i love the dynamic you 4 always bring to the weekend.
If Para Bellum´s “Conquest” game rules and feel of play match with the quality of the miniatures and the art work, the thing is going to be a winner.
Therefore the let´s play-video is something to watch out for. Thanks in advance, Dignity.
What I, personally, do not like about “Conquest” is the greater scale. This will make it difficult to find substitute models and to use scenery you already own.
To protect the mental well-being of the offspring of a wargame titan I suggest you give him, as a gift, the gun Mr Lyons made a few days ago, so that the titan can show this to his children. It is a weapon no alien can withstand. The little ones will see that immediately and the release of body liquids and putting on jamies (pyjamas, right?) won´t be an issue any more.
Just to make sure, the titan can pin a picture of himself wearing nothing to the door, if aliens really arrive.
Happy 2018 BoW. Glad you’re back!!!!!
great to see everyone back! funny; i was taken aback by that goblin as well. i really like the direction it is taking. fits well with the old stuff while adding something new and interesting…
Great news on the US BoW studio! Congrats to Dawn and Gianna!
Okay, @warzan … Apologies for having been gone a while, I’m back. Holidays and such, and of course chewing my way through an upcoming project. 😀
Hold on, I’m at 1:20:50 … and when Warren mentions “only tabletop site with a historical editor,” @thisisazrael drops his head in his hands? What’s up with that? 😀 😀 😀
Just kidding. 😀
Anyway, so wine, cheese, and prostitutes helped France get through World War II?
Well, I wasn’t too sure about all that. But I’ve done some poking around and have found some references to the following famous units that played an important role in some less-than-famous aspects of these campaigns:
The “Vintage 1920” Chardonnay Cuirassiers,
The 69th “Good Time Girl” Grenadiers …
The 13th Gigolo “Don’t Judge” Irregulars …
The 505th “Drag Queen” Dragoons …
and of course the 207th “Field Hospitality Regiment (often known as the elite “$300 Includes Breakfast” Brigade).
Just kidding, of course. just running with a joke here. There are some thorny politics lurking in French history in World War II, but even with all that I don’t think anyone doubts the contributions of the French Army even during 1940 (we talked this up extensively during Dunkirk Week), the Free French (especially my man LeClerc), the French Resistance, or the French First Army under General Jean de Lattre de Tassigny.
lol 🙂
I like the look of Para Bellum’s Conquest. It’s a shame I don’t have any space in the flat for them 🙁
Is there a way for backstagers to identify each other at Adepticon
Thanks to Warren I actually felt guilty putting mushrooms in my stir fry last night 🙁
Congratulations on the new US studio, with the quality of the people over there we can all expect some interesting stuff to come. Good times 🙂 .
I wish mantic well on their Hellboy venture (I am not going to back it as it isn’t really me, but good to see them building on their “Walking Dead” rep) Conquest isn’t really me either but it was interesting hearing what Leo and his team have planned. I am loving Malign Portents, in particularly their regular release of shortstories on the web (I like the way Steamforged do this for Guild Ball as well) . Thank you for this Saturday gift lads .. all the best.
