Atomic Mass Announce Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances!
February 26, 2026 by brennon
This week, Atomic Mass Games dropped another big announcement, this time for Marvel: Crisis Protocol. You'll be able to dive into a brand-new way to experience the Marvel universe on the tabletop with Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances and Night of the Goblin.
Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances // Atomic Mass Games
Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances - Night of the Goblin is a brand-new boxed game experience where one-to-four players will take on the role of heroes from the Marvel universe, battling against the Green Goblin and his villainous minions.
In the case of Night of the Goblin, you'll play as Web Warriors like Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Black Cat and Ghost Spider (Gwen Stacy). All of the miniatures from the new set will be push-fit, so you'll need no glue whatsoever to bring this collection to life. A good entry point for new hobbyists.
Heroes // Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances
Players will work together cooperatively, battling against the Green Goblin through a series of linked scenarios across a new hex-based board. It feels like the mechanics of Alliances will be very close to those of Marvel: Crisis Protocol (the full miniature skirmish game) but with a few tweaks to make it a bit more of a board game.
Each character will get their own dashboard where they will track their health and other statuses, plus space for unlockable cards underneath, which feature "levels" so there's an element of levelling up tied into the gameplay of Alliances. It reminds me quite a lot of the classic beat 'em ups of the 80s and 90s.
Gameplay // Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances
We don't know much more about the minute-to-minute gameplay of Alliances but we're likely to see more revealed about the game next week and later on in March at AdeptiCon and via GAMA. It looks like you get a healthy number of miniatures in the box and the best thing is they can also be used in Marvel: Crisis Protocol! It seems like they will just be alternative sculpts for the existing characters rather than heroes that require new statistic cards.
Summer 2026 // Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances
As well as announcing Night of the Goblin, scheduled for a release in Summer 2026, Atomic Mass Games also teased more for the Alliances game line. The trailer teased the mixing and matching of Marvel heroes (and villains) into your team for use in the different games, including some friendly X-Men! It seemed apt that Attack of the Sentinels also popped up at the end of the trailer.
Attack of the Sentinels // Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances
We got a look at some great new Sentinel miniatures and I would imagine we'll see a classic team of X-Men in this set. We already saw teasers for Wolverine and Cyclops and I would guess that the other two will be Rogue and Storm. They are four of the most notable X-Men characters and it would be a good mix of both male and female miniatures in the set at that point.
Do you like the idea of Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances? The miniatures look great but the real test will be in the gameplay. Will it draw new players in, will it be fun and will it then get folks to transfer over to Crisis Protocol proper after they've played through the campaigns a few times?

I like the idea of coop and/or solo. My interest is in the Sentinels versions and whether I buy depends on how much money they want for it.
they want all of your moneys …
I doubt it will be as cheap as we’d like it to be.
Hex based? Nah. Cool minis though!
I just don’t have the bandwidth to get into MCP, but I could do a stand-alone boxed game, and the Spider-Man theme appeals to me. I’ll probably pick this up if the price isn’t too ridiculous.
