Mantic Announce Assassin’s Creed: Animus Board Game
April 23, 2025 by brennon
Mantic Games has today announced their new board game coming to Kickstarter soon, Assassin's Creed: Animus. Based on the hit video game series by Ubisoft, you'll be able to take on the role of iconic assassins throughout history on the tabletop.
Assassin's Creed: Animus // Mantic Games
Assassin's Creed: Animus is a two-to-four player game for ages twelve and up that can be played in as little as forty minutes, with longer games coming in around ninety minutes. Become the legendary assassins of the series, each with their own unique abilities that you'll be able to use to take down your targets.
Ronnie Renton has already discussed that the game will have a deep respect for the history of the franchise and both the lore and characters that it has developed over the years. Animus will feature asymmetric characters and tough gameplay choices where you have to pursue your own objectives whilst maintaining an edge over other players.
More will be revealed later this year by both Mantic Games and Ubisoft before it hits crowdfunding on Kickstarter HERE. With a pedigree in tie in games already with the likes of Worms, Hellboy and more, Mantic feels like a good company to be working on something fun for the world of Assassin's Creed.
Are you intrigued to see what's on the cards?

Interesting given that licensors in the gaming world typically only grant one license per gaming avenue. Like Mantic had the sole license to The Walking Dead for the purposes of miniatures gaming. Triton Noir (Canada) currently have several Assassin’s Creed minis games available with more currently shipping from KS.
TBH Assassin’s Creed as a board game feels like it should be aimed for a more narrative focus if using the named characters from the video games. I’d love to see something closer to Star Wars Imperial Assault where you play as generic characters (so you can make your own guys) and have the occasional named characters.
If they could just translate the multiplayer from Assassins creed 2 through black flag they’d probably be in business, though that feels more akin to a Wargame I guess. It’s a board game which I generally avoid unless it’s something I deffo want.
wouldn’t that just be a game with pirates and without the assassins that do the creed thing ?
The world does need more pirate-themed games, but after what Ubisoft did with Skull & Bones when they literally could have extracted the multiplayer game from Black Flag and call it a day …
