Wait, that’s not right… Ah well Happy Sunday All 🙂
Also, huge congrats to Lance. And Justin, the laser chess game you were thinking of could have been Khet?
happy sunday!
Happy Sunday Everyone! 🙂
Happy Sunday!
More Nurgle Ben please!!!
…as much as I liked the gifts from Papa Nurgle, I may have to decline!
No return’s that’s how it works Ben.
Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday
Happy Sunday, great show!
Lance’s concepts & Caesar’s artwork – now that would be a good combo for the card game, with characters based on aged BoW J& D personae.
Gratz Lance & significant other now upgraded with new mystical equipment.
I actually just dug out my Rackham – Confrontation Collection including Hybrid and the Nemesis Expansion.
The only good thing that cam for me from the dumpster fire that the Kickstarter is. Sigh.
Heroqest is sitting here as well with all the euro expansions.
Happy Sunday folks
An old game to dust off for me – 1st Ed Warhammer Quest. Love some dungeon delving with my Dwarf Slayer, Pit Fighter, Elf Ranger and Wizard fighting the old school Warhammer gribblies
it’s not an Alsatian in the spectre minis it’s a Malinois which are the prefered K9 for special operators.
Happy Sunday.
Not a board game but.We were just talking the other day, in our gaming group, about resurrecting and old rpg. Dark Sun was a great world that TSR built and didn’t go far enough with in our opinion. Forgotten Realms took over at that time. I had to go deep into my storage area to find the old books. I see some characters getting rolled up very soon.
It’s always pretty cool to go and revisit some of the older RPGs to see how they hold up. Very cool 🙂
Just because no one’s made enough of “Samarkand is a crap name”, here’s the Wikipedia entry for SAMARKAND, THE ACTUAL REAL PLACE https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samarkand
I knew it was a real place!
Queue Simpsons clip of Wolfcastle.
That’s the joke.
One of the games I have which needs a dusting off is Runebound, it’s a great little game and reminds me a little be it of Talisman, but with better mechanics. The other game I have that I don’t play enough of is City of Thieves, which is set in Cadwallon from the Confrontation World. it comes with a selection of Confrontation minis in plastic, which I’ve start painting.
I do need to check out Runebound – I remember it being very good indeed. City of Thieves was another game I nearly picked up but never got round to, I don’t think i had a lot of money for games at that point.
Happy Sunday all.
THERE IS NO BEN, ONLY ZUUL
I think Nurgle has forever left his mark on me!
Ben – nice hills mate, add a little yellow to your black/dark grey next time 😉
I second Talisman!
Cheers 🙂 I will bear that in mind next time I crack out the sponge. I actually picked up a few more to do some interesting new designs and see where I can go differently with it.
Must resist, must resist commenting on Justin sentence above! Oh heck, what? Spartacus and Lightseekers are “old” games? And you thought I meant the beginning part of that sentence….
Attack! is the game I did to organise of again. I guess I the last few years when I have organised a long games its always been a war-game rather than a board game. I remember enjoying the game and playing it till late in the night.
@Lanzcor It’s on!
I didn’t so much read Redwall as Deptford mice (and especially the prequel, the Oaken Throne) is what is making me consider Burrows and Badgers.
My oldest book is something I picked up at a market on holiday once, it is a collection of Poe’s works that was published shortly after his death. Not particularly valuable as it’s not a first edition or anything, but a lovely little piece of history.
Carpet People by Terry Pratchett I think is the oldest book I have in terms of, me getting it and still having it.
Congratulations to Lance!
Love Mythbusters, not been able to get one with the new series since they changed presenters. Will have to try again though, as it’s nothing against the new guys, I just got to know the old crew so well.
Very fun looking card game @lancorz, hope you get some games on camera before too long! Are you planning on making print and play copies for beta testing?
I think Khet is the game Justin is talking about, the Chess with lasers thing. A very innovative little game.
Onitama is a great game, picked it up at PAX:Unplugged, and have to say I keep meaning to take it into work. There are a group of guys at work who sort of switch between Carcassonne and Chess, and they need to play it!
I have a huge stack of games I should play more of! Lightseekers is definitely on that list. Probably also Lagoon and Bottom of the Ninth. Also Shuffle Heroes, that was an absolute hidden gem and the first ever game I bought at Spiel, really nice mechanics and balance.
Both good books to have.
Speaking of old board games, anyone remember Nightmare on VHS?
I think @brennon is slowing becoming the Gatekeeper
Muhahahahaha *cough*…ahem.
He may have been bit/infected by Meagan’s gang?
Now that was a classic in terms of boardgame innovation. Didn’t they do a DVD remake of it at one point?
Yeah I think so. They’re perfect for Halloween gaming
Congratulations Lance and your lady.
My boardgme to dig out again would be MB games Axis & Allies.
Loved the show Guy’s well done.
@Lance Catan has a six person expansion so if you still need more then that then I have no idea to help. The Fishing Expansion is fun.
@justin.
For something you need to dust off are War Mammoths.

A fun show everyone and I so wish I had money for Black Rose.
Lance my friend. take the love and happiness you’ve found and leave a little with everyone you meet.
oldest book? 1st edition Adventures of Tom Bombadil. .
Thank you, John. We will try. 😉
… I want that book
Alright nobody here probably knows my game of choice to play again after a long time, and that’s because it’s a czech one called “Z pohádky do pohádky” (loosely translated as “From one fairytale to another”). It’s a really old one, but it’s just so much fun to play with friends. It’s a completely luck based game, since the only thing you do is roll the dice and move your figure along the path and the first one to reach the treasure at the end is the winner. But there is a really lot of special places on the path that can force you to stay at one place for a long time if you’re unlucky, or cause you to take a longer path or a detour, or teleport you back or forward… so no matter how far ahead somebody might be, the victory is never certain with this one and that’s why it’s so much fun with the right party 🙂
The thing is, I never owned the game and it’s impossible to get your hands on it now, but I loved it so much that I made my own. I did change the visuals though, but all the paths and special places on it are still the same 🙂
Happy Tuesday!
Do we know what day (evening) the UK Games Expo backstage meet up will be?
Great Show GUys!!!!
My old game i’d dust off is Napoleon in Europe by Eagle Games or my old standby Diplomacy by Avalon Hill.
Got quite a few games I’ve bought but not yet played… But as for games I used to play a fair bit but don’t any more, I’ll have to go with Chaos in the Old World. I’m not quite sure why I / we stopped playing. I don’t think it was a conscious choice. As in, we didn’t say ‘we’ve had enough’. I suppose there were other exciting games to try – and love.
I’ve never played Risk Legacy but we completed Pandemic Legacy Season 1. Although it did take us nearly two years, with months in between (weekend-long) playing sessions.
Started on Season 2 just a couple of weeks ago!
Whelp.. looks like I’m amazingly 3 weeks behind again… time to get caught up back in April! :L
BEST Ending ever! Ben’s the best Nurgle cultist.
