Ángel Giráldez Sprinkles Magic on Anima Tactics Minis

Ángel show us all how painting should be done with his latest fantastic paint jobs on Valis and Maria from the Anima Tactics range.
This guy must never sleep as his blog is bursting with painting skills that can make you grin with joy and then cry with the realisation that most of us will never be this good.
If you don’t know who Ángel Giráldez is I suggest you take a few moments and check out his blog. In short he’s the master of paint behind the Infinity minis, which is a hell of an achievement as they are coming out with about 5 new releases every month all with cracking paint schemes.
Ángel also spreads his wings quite a bit too, with a portfolio including miniatures from Anima Tactics, Antenociti's Workshop, Avatars of War, Chapterhouse Studios, Smart Max, Otherworld Miniatures, Mercs Minis, Spherewars, Red Box Games and more!
Also he has been known to pop into our very own minirama gallerys from time to time so keep an eye out for more of his work.

Maria of those twograbs me more, but then the scale effect on the first mini is stunning.

I haven’t played it & don’t know if I’m really interested in it as a game, but for a painting project the minis look great & I’ve had my eye on them for a while…not that I can paint like that of course 🙂

The reaper is very very nice indeed.
Valis is a stunning sculpt but I’m just not a big fan of anime elves and their giant ears, if I got one I’d have to take that ear off and put some hair over the damage.
Really not liking the Maria model though, her pose just seems all wrong.
You know I want to say something so bad. But I know Justin or Andy or Warren will zap me again… LOL LOL
So I wont even though it is almost in stone that I will get Zapped in future 🙂

I like the ears tbh and the Maria’s pose is excellent though why she is wearing Borat’s mankini is a mystery.
As a member of the Church Organisation you think they would get her be a bit more discrete. Put some clothes on yer little Jezebel! lol
Addendum:
If at some point I get around to buying Maria for my daughter’s Church team she would deffo get a non flesh paint job and be wearing a body stocking or similar tight fitting outfit.
(Maria, not my daughter who is DEFINITELY not going out dressed like that! lol)

If there is that much action involved in the production and display of mini’s I am sure the game has the same effort put into it…
I have like a bazillion ideas paint scheme wise just looking at them. Its time to step up to the plate and offload the air brush kit and find my “CHI” at around 6 to 12 psi.

Sweet! I’ve been waiting on the Valis preview, I really want her for my Wissenschaft. And wow, Maria is more suggestive of a sculpt than I expected.
It goes without saying those are outstanding models and paintjobs.
I think the extreme Anime stylings and exaggerated poses of the Anima Tactics figures are a love or hate thing for many. I personally love most of the stuff as it remains so faithful to the original anime/manga artwork. Angel is my painting hero. His stuff is consistently to a very high standard, but its the sheer amount of painting he pumps out that just amazes me. He might not have put out a single stunning mini thats taken a year to do like some people, but the work he pumps out isn’t far off from what other ‘masters’ achieve…… Read more »
