These are some very, very interesting games which really go to the heart of the hobby and what makes it fun. We're loving the aesthetic and are going to be keeping an eye on the development of both games.

It’s the Weekend!
As soon as the ww3:ty West Germans are launched tomorrow and I can use the lists on forces I’ll place my order for at least one of those starter boxes and a few supplementary units.
As for that new Moonstone box – just stop it!
MoooooOOOOOOOnstone
Remember the old PC game Moonstone? What an incredibly violent game that was!
hadn’t heard of it, had to go and look it up and it doesn’t rind any bells, but then I wasn’t playing many games when it came out
Verflucht! The new West German lists ARE already available on forces.team-yankee.com
have you seen all of the stuff from the launch?
Been looking at the launch and TY site for a while, liking the look of a lot of it, but as it’s my 2nd TY army I’m trying to be ‘efficient’ in my choices (at least for my first order).
What can I buy and still run different formations? A couple of the West German starter boxes supplemented with some infantry (breaking down those to work it out) and some AA capability gives me a number of list options (“Leopard 2 Panzeraufklärungs Kompanie” OR “Leopard 2A5 Panzer Kompanie” running with a separate “Marder 2 Panzergrenadier Kompanie” OR “Marder 2 Panzergrenadier Kompanie” with tank and air support).
That’ll do… that’ll do… (for now).
Hive creepers, just in time to escape the lockup.
Oh man. That Necromunda set looks great.
I loved Necromunda when it first came out. Delaque was my gang.
Would love to win this one and play it with my children.
Great starting point for newbies.
They have done a good job with the look of the Delaque although I always said their name wrong.
I think all the gangs look better.
It was just a shame they didn’t have all the gangs and rules in the first new starter set.
And pronouncing the name wrong or different is just because back then these was no YouTube. 😉
The advent of YouTube hasn’t corrected / clarified all pronunciation issues, where are we with A-bad-one / Abad-a-don again?
ha ha that crazy ineffective Warmaster!
I think he prefers Ted
Necromunda… The battle cry of Teenage Undead Ninja Turtles…
more like Teenage Ninja Goth Hipsters 😉
I would totally buy that gang!
Sludge looks promising I like the blend of black powder and fantasy. It adds a sense of quirkiness like Wars of Oz. Very tempted with the French Indian Wars Kickstarter Paul Hicks does great work but I’m also tempted by the new West Germans….decisions decisions and lots of temptations ☺️
Indeed – lots of very fascinating new additions to the tabletop world this time around.
Catnip28!
Shouldn’t that be *********?
Naaaah…
you’re not trying to win another GW game, aren’t you ? 😉
I wouldn’t know where to put it
then stop commenting … you might win something by accident again 😛
Nah, too much potential fun in all the gnashing and whining of the others should I win again XD
Poddington Peas army is a must surely
Necromunda, yes! and almost 100K subs, we are almost there.
Since I have been put on the spot: yes, I said 40k needs new Orks… and they still do! The Beast Snagga Orks are boring and dull and while I’m all in favour for kit bashing: G’Wullu embraces the “one pose” model so hard that kit bashing gets really hard. Last edition Orks where head, arms, torso and a pair of legs. Mix and match to your hearts delight! The new box will not allow for that because of the bloody “one pose push fit” stuff G’Wullu is pushing so hard. You want proper Orks? Go and buy some Kromlech or Artel W. (Side note If you, like myself, have some heads, arms and torso lying around: Kromlech also sells “legs only” and they fit the old G’Wullu Orks perfectly)
Both 40k and AoS “start collecting” kits do have ‘classic’ Orkes that can be combined.
Single pose minis are not fun for armies that should be kitbashed to heck and back like Orks, Chaos and Genestealer Cults.
The Imperial Guard are getting a new weapon/arms sprue so… it looks like GW isn’t changing them to monopose nonsense.
I tried to find any pictures of the new Ork sprews but I’m pretty much guessing they will be like any other recent release. And I’m talking about 40k Indomitus, the monthly magazine and even the grot BB team I have: kit bashing factor is zero unless you start using a saw. Which was not needed for the older orks. But even then: I don’t like the look of the Beast Snagga…. they look to “soft” and rounded… not Orky enough
Sludge looks really cool. Very 28mm Grim Dark ish.
nice friday night weekender to start relaxing 🙂
I was quite taken by the new Delaque models seen at the previews last week.
I have big love for Deadzone, but maybe Necromunda has something to offer for models.
Jerry’s been Tangoed
Those turnips look cute!
IT’s the weekend and it starts now, time to watch you know what we are going to watch, that’s right THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE!!!
Ben just a correction on the video AOS 3.0 is not out in 18 days they are going to show off the other side of the box the new army. We expect the release date will be about the 2nd week of July in line with previous big versions.
Ahhhh I see – well, very interesting indeed.
Really liking the aesthetic of both Sludge and Turnip28, will definitely be keeping an eye on how they both develop. I especially like the approach with Sludge, having some heads produced and advice to mix with third party plastics to prompt the kit bashing that is a core of Inq28 hobby.
Brilliant show people, really enjoying these Friday shows…
let the weekender fun begin.
that turnip game has a hint of labyrinth as well i think.
you guys may know this when the tornado first came out they had a lump of concrete in the nose as the radar system was still to be finalized.
If @fcostin likes those Warmaster ponies wait til she sees Happy Duck (https://www.patreon.com/HappyDuck3D).
nice one guys.
In this episode Ben bills Quacks of Quedlinburg with ducks for Free. Pundancer, get your game on man!
Would love to win that price 😀
I would look into that turnip28 but if my wife found out I was starting another army this year I would be…….. rooted………
Do we know if the new Necromunda starter set has the rules for “3D” terrain (or playing on a normal table setup rather than just the terrain in the starter set)? This was one on the major stumbling blocks with the old starter sets (requiring you to buy the additional hardback rulebook to obtain the rules). It would be nice if this time around GW has been nice to the new players and included this all important aspect (it’s a page or two of rules, nothing heavy).
I think switching out the Goliaths for Delaque was probably a wise move (as many players new to the game just don’t like the look of the Goliath minis), For me I still have a fondness for the Goliath minis as they harken back to the original game and how the Necroumda gangs originally took some of their design aspects from real life “sub culture” aspect of the time (late 80s). So we had Punks, Heavy Metal Fans/Bikers, Skin Heads, and Gary Numan Fans (Van Saar :D).
But I’d say probably Van Saar and Escher are probably the most popular gangs with the players, but having Van Saar in the starter set probably would have caused balance issues for a starter set (so Delaque was indeed the better choice for the starter set).
But we also know at the end of the day “real” Necromunda players use Cawdor Gangs 😀
Looking forward to seeing what changes the 3rd edition AoS brings. I really like the look of the new Delaque models, though I’m a Van Saar player myself.
I love the look of West Germans. Don’t know about their play style in Team Yankee. In the Wargame computer series I always struggled with them. Good tech but small and expensive army.
Ben become ONE of us….aeldari(eldar) classic ageless design with smooth lines and a plethora of back story.
Also you can help your friend enjoy the hobby. The wraith element of the craft worlds is very interesting to withhold the spirits from Slannesh.Look great too,oh said that already??
I have a fast attack army with bikes and falcons ,and a stand and shoot army of troops.
Go on, Go on, Go on……..
Do it! One of us ,One of us ,One of us.
Just trying to give a little pay back to the OTT crew,as you ALL manage to encourage us to spend our merger hobby funds. It is only fair we do the same back.
Have a great week and will be watching with bated breath in the next episodes for the new Ben army lol.
Keep safe and hobby like you mean it!
I was in a local store chatting 40K today so it’s probably coming up sooner rather than later…
Loved the show guys, Onmioji Miniatures are excellent
Sludge looks quite intriguing. Ive been thinking of grabbing some napoleonics in anticipation of silver bayonets.
Superb choice for the indie. Sludge looks/sounds interesting
Weekend!
Any game about turnips gets my vote.
oh my word what a great prize
I really like the look of Sludge, hope it gets fleshed out more. Have a great weekend folks!
ooooo can’t wait for the Moonstone stuff.
Morning all,
Sounds like Sludge needs a plant hunter / aggressive gargening faction, seeking to regrow the world tree eg http://www.exetermemories.co.uk/em/_people/veitch.php
the annihilator shield looks like it’s got Sig-thulu on, check out those tentacles under his chin
Those ponies would make an evil looking beast swarm there for 28mm too, who needs rats when you can summon mini evil (flying) ponies
The Paul Hicks French & Indian Wars minis look great…already thinking about how they could be used for Silver Bayonet…Brotherhood of the Wolf vibes in my head
Gotta love a bit of Brotherhood Of The Wolf!
Gorram it, I need to find space for a 3D printer….
So much roleplaying to be done when we can see people again and I’m just seeing minis that are like “I know exactly where I could use that”.
Need to make room for it first. I’m sure the kids don’t *really* need their bedroom, do they? =P
If the kids sleep in the same room as the 3D Printer then can’t they keep an eye on it? Get them working early…
Them Turkey Dinosaurs ain’t gonna pay for themselves!
Great show, great prize. I’m going to have to get some Moonstone.
Sludge sounds interesting
I am looking forwards to getting a property game of League of Infamy in, I think it’s a more players the better proposition. Works ok with two players, but my wife is reluctant to play complex games so it probably wasn’t a fair test!
I’ve picked up a bunch of models from Onmioji and not only are they as good as they looked on the screen, but they’re also a doddle to print. There’s so many of them that they’re one of my go-to sources for minis these days.
Wow, Sludge is such a great concept. Taking a Napoloenic infantryman and sticking a 14th century bascinet on his head and then dousing him in mud and gore sounds like a recipe for massive fun ?. Just bringing a few ideas together in a new way can be so evocative.
I wait for AoS 3
Swedes 2 Turnips 1 keeps coming into my head
Still not sure I’ll go for the new Orks (what am I saying of course I will). Hopefully they will make it out of the box
The new Orks look amazing! I can’t wait to see what else is in store for them!
Not a fan of Napoleonic (though do like Pike and Shotte), but Sludge really interests me. Both mentioned give me a “This Quar’s War” vibe, from Zombiesmith Games.
And it’s really nice to see Free settling into the weekender (and giving Ben board game support), as I feared se would just ‘lurk’ – happy to see myself wrong
Damn! Now I want 40k orks again.
This was a brilliant show!
Oooh, Necomunda you say? Count me in! I daren’t think about how many years ago it was when my friends and I moved over from Blood Bowl and Space Crusade to “real” skirmish gaming….
Sludge looks good
Lol…. those ponies are messed up.
So many possibilities, it’s got me wanting a resin printer.
HAPPY WEEKENDER!!!
Sludge looks like an interesting game blending blackpowder and fantasy. I really could see making an army with the look and feel from the computer game Arcanum which blended steampunk with fantasy.
The Necromunda hive war looks great. I remember looking at looking at the original Necromunda in WD and wishing that I could play it. But as a teen money was in short supply to support both WHFB and Necromunda 🙂
Loving the Block Mania and Mega Mania Gerry
cheers, seemed appropriate
Thats an interesting idea and like the vision of the Indi of the week.
All over moonstone, I never thought I’d like whimsical fantasy. But the core of the game is really well, done and accessible. Easy to learn, hard to master.
Did i mention a goblin riding a pug?
The art of John Blanche has influenced so many model makers and painters and continues to be a source of inspiration for me. Quirky and dark with hues of brown, white and yellow capture that ‘grim dark’ atmosphere of Warhammer, 40K, (less so AoS?) and I can see how it has influenced ‘Sludge’ – great conversion ideas and opportunities for escapism from the realities of everyday life. Super show again! ???
Turnip 28 looks amazing, so does moonscape. I would have loved two new gangs included in the new Necromunda starter (Escher is awesome but they were in the first one). Another great show thanks for another great start to the weekend.
Moonstone sorry
Nice show guys, thank you for that.
That Kiwi game made me think of the Kiwi teasing the poor Tazz Devil from that WB cartoon.
Amazing resources for the 10mm I shall go make myself poorer on it 😀
It almost looked like you were going to make it through Turnip28 without mentioning Blackadder. I’d have demanded my subscription back if you had.
Great show guys. Sludge is intriguing. 40K blanchistu vibes aplenty. Find it interesting that GW imperial guard armies used to have so much scope for weird regiments, but these days they seem to have been restricted to cadian “stormship troopers” models.
Writing this after todays CoG show, and youve got me looking at ASOFAI, mainly based on the discussion on rule sets. The Rank and file meets off the board “general” influence looks interesting. My bank manager curses you.
The new Sigmar models look amazing!
I quite like the idea of Sludge, as it allows for kit bashing and buying minis from a range of outlets.
Sludge sounds fantastic
well thats done it im off to check out sludge and that chap Stanislav Kuznetsov on MMF (as if i didnt spend enough their already)
So many new toys. Who’d have thought of kiwis fighting for global domination ?
It’s good to finally have new Orks! Hopefully it means there will be more new releases in the near future.
I would like to win the game.
Hopefully my entry is here with sufficient time to spare.
Youtube video also commented on but I wasn’t sure where I’d check the winner, so I’m covering as many bases as possible
The Necromunda set looks great, I’d double the miniatures out in other games like This is Not a Test.
Witchstone looks like a lot of fun
Necromunda set looks great.
Good show. Looking forward to see people field the West German army.
watched this late friday, too many beers, so sorry this is late – Happy Weekend!!!!
An actual Free Model would surely fit well in, considering she already speaks Orkish ?
I was and still am not a fan of John Blanche’s art style, I think my favourite GW artist was Adrian Smith, I loved his soft pencil style. No one drew Nurgle like Smith!
He has popped up in recent years with Monolith doing art on their Conan stuff. Still a talent.
I wish I had more money for the Gravelords
Happy monday guys!
I still haven’t played a game of AoS, just read my army books and rules so, i’ll reserve my judgment for then… Love the Stormcast spearmen but not the hammer guys… As for the new army, we’ll see… Hopefully i’ll managed to finish painting my Nighthaunts by then and hopefully started my Stormcasts too!
See you guys on XLBS!
another good episode. 😀
I never heard of Moonstone, but it looks interesting
The new orks look cool 🙂
This was a cool Weekender!
I like this Witchstone
The ICe & Fire dragons look cool!
