The news is out that Marvel's Spider-Man IS going to rejoin his buddies like Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk and Thor with a new deal being announced between Sony and Disney where they share the friendly neighbourhood superhero...

Avengers & Spider-Man Team

The earliest we could see Spider-Man pop up is in the upcoming Captain America film, Civil War. It would make sense for the web-slinger to pop up there at the beginning of a big new story arch and then maybe he'll continue to appear in Avenger movies from then on.

Avengers & Spider-Man

I think it's great that the studios are prepared to share the intellectual property even though this does throw the future of Andrew Garfield as the masked hero into disarray. I think he was a pretty great Spider-Man and Peter Parker in the original reboot after the terrible Toby Maguire outings. It's just a shame that the second film in his repertoire suffered from the same problems the last Maguire film did. Too many villains and a mishmashed storyline.

Spider-Man & Avengers Cast

So look out for Spider-Man to appear in the next Captain America movie, hopefully, and then a possible re-boot of the re-boot from Sony over the next few years too. It's either that or they just stick to the Sinister Six and use that to push the franchise on and forget the reboot entirely, carrying on with the Garfield story.

I think it would be awesome to see how Spider-Man fits into the Avengers films and I still remember his quips in the awesome Marvel Ultimate Alliance video games, an awesome thing to see them all together on screen.

What do you think of the news true believers?
