Wargames Atlantic Release Beta Rules For Death Fields Arena!
July 28, 2025 by brennon
Wargames Atlantic has now released the Beta Rules for their Sci-Fi skirmish game, Death Fields Arena. Making use of their already extensive range of plastic figures, you can dive into the game right now and give it a go, helping out the design team during this early period of the game's life.
Playtest Rules // Death Fields Arena
The Playtest Rules are from a very early version of the game, which features two arena-ready teams. You can dive in with the Les Grognards or the Raumjager to begin with...

There are also generic faction templates included so you can be creative and take any of the Death Fields range and tweak them to suit your initial games. More factions, abilities, traits and equipment are going to be added based on community requests.
Death Fields itself is all about small teams of miniatures battling it out in the arena. Your team members are all vital members of your squad and are designed to have a big impact on the game. This all comes together with the Combat Effectiveness mechanics (CE), which fluctuate during the game as your soldiers succeed and fail, get shot and land devastating hits. This then flows into the Activation Phase, as the experience unfolds, making each decision key.
If this has you intrigued, you can check out both an introduction to Death Fields Arena and a full Battle Report.

Once you've given the videos a watch and delved into the Rules, you can join the Death Fields community and give your thoughts about the game over on their Facebook Group. Share your feedback there on the good and the bad and help shape the game going forward.

I bet the beta rules are “bet-a” rules than the alpha ones… 8)
Oooooh! I’d love to give these a go! Looking for an alternative to Killteam.
