Happy Sunday CoG’s……it’s the XLBS Show!
Good to see more of the ‘War Rabbits’. I spent a good amount of time looking for those Rabbits around the internet. No luck so far. @avernos is a power shopper to be sure. I thought for curtain that someone would have some up for grabs on fleebay.
I’ve started receiving my Adeptus Mechanicus minis this week. Look’s like I’m adding a Knight to my new army as well!
I’ve read were the Crusader is a good compliment for the Adeptus. Hope that’s right. If anyone of my fellow CoG’s knows different, I’m open to hearing about options.
I also received a couple of MRAP vehicles from Spectre Miniatures. Man they are sharp looking and hefty pieces of resin. They’ll look good on the table with my Humvee’s that I ordered a while back. I just about have enough to set up a 1/56 scale table top recreation of our SITREP ‘Dessert Eagles’ RPG game. It’ll be fun to see it all in 3D on the table and see if it plays out the same as we did in the onling RPG session. @oriskany sure built a fun scenario for us to play through.
I’m still looking for some 28mm WW1 Germans in Pickle helmets and WW1 Brit’s in Brodie helmets for ‘Blood and Valor’. There’s gotta be one company that has both.
Great war miniatures should do both. Failing that phalanx consortium will be going there but the whole nonsense of 2020 has put them behind.
There are plastic Germans coming from wargames Atlantic which have you covered but British are far down the line.
Such a pity that Renegade havent or maybe will never reopen
HAPPY SUNDAY!!!!
I wouldn’t hazard to guess if any minis are NOT in the vast pelagic depths of the cave. o_0
But I’ll wager that is distinct lack of glitter paints like the ones I’ve used on my Escher. 😀
Happy Sunday!
Does this mean Warren hasn’t left a new Codebusters that takes less time to solve than a tabloid concise crossword clue?
The Cogitos Ludos #29 news letter arrived by email this morning.
I’ve posted a screenshot of the puzzle in the #cogitosludos6 channel of the OTT Discord server.
Saw that thanks, although I’d solved it almost before I finished reading it!
WWW2 ninjas ….with rivets…..mmmm ideas!
Thanks for the button guys – made may day.
For the Rakshasa King mini, shouldn’t his hands be reversed? They look normal in the sculpt. One of the defining characteristics is that the Rakshasa have reversed hands. The palms face out from the body when the arms are at rest.
If @lloyd did puncture his his ball while sitting on it be like watching Baron Munchausen riding the cannonball over Coleraine
I think ninjas fired from giant ACME catapults to attack enemy planes is the way to go
Just behind the curtain Gerry has a 5th edition DnD game set up complete with minatures for all players and NPC’s. His secret shame.
Hooray weekender, first time in months I’ve actually managed to watch a complete episode without being interrupted by that family of mine
Happy Sunday One and All.May your hobby ( halo ) lights never fade and your paints never dry.
happy sunday
thanks for my gold button.
my day couldn’t have started better.
was my first project, gives courage to continue with my other projects.
Gerry the metal plate is a door of electrical box that they use in the industry I will try to make clearer picture.
I made this to be able to make more grass tuffs in one go.
but beware of the electricity shokken ⚡️ (your hair is like grass tuffs ?)
The 2 bases were test bases but they will be object markers
have a good day everyone ? ?
Happy Sunday…
They have done a Sharpe reunion on an audio podcast. It’s an hour of stuff and they have also done a Hornblower reunion.
https://player.fm/series/history-hack/ep-27-history-hack-sharpes-reunion
The most meta episode yet! A Lloyd shot of Lloyd!
So Gerry has quit drinking and now his photos are in focus. I’m sure these two events have nothing to do with each other.
I’ve been thinking recently, are there any solo play moderns mini games? It seems ideal for it. You have your SpecOps team you can equip and level up. Maybe you can have as many men as you like in your unit, but the map says how many you can take so you have to make tactical choices on who to bring and how to equip them. You have maps of enemy strongholds etc that needs infiltrating. Thow in AI rules for the enemy and you have a game. Could easily write campaigns for the system too, not just standalone maps. And this is ingnoring the Stargate mod potential.
3 Beardies playing with their balls! On video no less….good job it is a subscription service or you might get done for broadcasting it!
Like the halfling cavalry @avernos. Is the artillery going to be catapulted cooking pots of grub?
I do have a hot pot, but the majority of them volley guns and cannons
Ben there are 27 entries for chewbacca on eBay The cheapest is £11.82 plus £7.59 postage. Some are already painted too for not a lot more……use the force Ben.
Here to enable the COG team as they enable us!
Chewee, Chewee,Chewee!……
yeah but the cheapest Legion model is £27 so about £10 more than the RRP
When a feminist friend asked me to come around to watch a movie i said yes…. sitting on the sofa she said ” period drama ok”… i run out screaming…!!!! Guessing you was talking about the other period drama
thanks for the great show guys! Really had myself cracking up laughting a few times
“What hobby items do you think don’t exist in the magic bag of holding that Gerry calls his man cave?”
That’s an easy one. @avernos has no 3D printer.
Tada!
Now I will watch the show 🙂
Sorry Ben, I have the wookie . . . .it is the only legion model I own though unlike Gerry who has all of the characters it seems. I’m still waiting to see if they ever get round to creating swamp troopers, I think that’s what they’re called, the guys from Solo.
Lloyd you’re right that is a strange painting position, but then I find desks that people stand behind to work also strange and yet they’re fairly commonplace it seems.
Finally I never thought I’d hear Gerry reaching for Ruprecht the monkey boy for an example to illustrate his point around knife safety.
Happy Sunday Everyone ?
@brennon try messaging Vince at Asgard Games, Walsall for Sabine, or any of the others he may have one squirreled away.
Happy Sunday XLBS,ers
It’s always funny when that happens to poachers getting eaten by the wildlife.
I’m guessing there aren’t too many role playing miniatures on round bases in the Gerrcave…
Lol schooling with Lloyd
Kodos to the editors loving all the wee clips your sticking in.
It’s best to take the masking off straight after painting as the paint will creep under the masking.
They just use cruise missiles now.
Your figures paintwork Luke’s great ben.
@Lloyds wifey: If you can’t beat them, join them… 😀
Happy Sunday!!! Fantastic show this week. The editing has been amazing since lock down. Three cheers for the editor!
Happy Sunday. Thanks for the show/content gentlemen.
@avernos Is there anything you don’t have or an answer for at your place? When we landed in Saudi Arabia, Nov. 1990 much of our force unloaded from the MPS ships in woodland camo. They are all NATO colors, but the patern I thought was ours. We had to paint the desert colors on-site and we ran out of paint all the time. Some of the extra armor panels supplied were already painted and then mounted/hung and if it broke up enough of the color we called it done.
that’s fascinating, I knew that suits had been supplied in the incorrect camo, but I had never heard about the armour also being supplied in it.
Despite my random collection there are plenty of things I don’t have…yet 😉
On daylight bulbs, I did an all-nighter before Games Day ’94 to finish three Evil Sunz Great Gargants for a demo. Painted them under my … suboptimal bedroom light. Opened the curtains and my beautiful red highlights were traffic cone orange
Your rabbits look fabulous Gerry.
Those are not Leias eyes from the last jedi, they are her pupils from The Star Wars Holiday Special.
Happy Sunday to all my fellow CoGs!
Okay – so what fresh Hell have I slipped into? Gerry has photos IN FOCUS?! I can’t cope with this…..
Ctrl-Z . . . . . . . . . Ctrl-Z . . . . . . . . . Argh!!!!
Congratulations to the good button winner’s.
Natural weathering techniques. #longgame.
1:07:23 is there a trauma helpline we can call? OK that I can call.
1:34:10 is there a trauma helpline etc. and so on
Happy Sunday, brill show but i am still in shock over Gerry’s in focus pics…..
Hope Warren has a better week and is back soon.
Not a fan of Codebusters to be honest.
I was actually listening to a podcast on photosynthesis the other day, and Gerry basicly said what the scientists said… i’m impressed!
Holy Crap! That ninja lady is actually Ling from Kung Pow Enter the Fist! Well, maybe not but those curly ques still turn my crank and especially with the end theme for The Hunted by Kodo going off. @avernos I approve of your approval of the land which brought us magical garment girls that fight the likes of psychedelic demons with the ever-present threat of being dismembered and killed in graphic manners (a la Puella Magi Madoka Magica) as well as the ever famous hentacles (not just ninjas). After those in focus rabbit shots and Watership Down moment I think that the hentacles might be tame.
@brennon Still in awe of the hair but I’m recovering. The minis look good and I hope that more mini goodness comes from your hobby time.
Now for those who would brave the video, here is the real inspiration for @lloyd to take up the bouncy ball therapy. No matter what he’s told his Pada-wife he’s been rolling his rear around to the music of electric floozies. Lol
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpbImVaTutw
I could have sworn i tuned in for the xlbs, if this is how the show ig going to be, i’m not sure i see the value of a backstage membership…
Happy Sunday CoG’s!
Gerry’s drug dealer story had tears in my eyes.
“Killed all the neighbors…” Gerry’s brain is a dark place 🙂
If Sean Bean only said a few lines, it was probably just “Bastard”
https://youtu.be/tE8d-uGmIWk
Happy Sunday CoGs, great show as always. Gerry was back to his old self this week, truly hilarious.
Lloyd’s hips certainly don’t lie… I am surprised all his rivets haven’t come undone by that segment!
Happy Sunday/Monday everyone 🙂
Great show boys.
Vallejo Metal Colours are great paints, but I’ve had issues in the past with colour fastness. Sometimes the paint will run if you put an ink wash over it, even if you shake the bottle thoroughly beforehand and leave the paint to cure for 24hrs. I ruined the paint job on an entire batch of models when I tried putting a wash over one of the Aluminiums (this was after leaving the paint overnight to dry).
Well, its been fun lads. Going to be taking a monetary break from Backstage for now.
