Happy Sunday,
have you guys thought of using a ping pong table??
it’s much bigger and harder to store which I think is an issue for Warren, it’s also more expensive than buying the 6×4 table from someone like gamemat. It will work for some people but not others I expect
Happy Sunday!
For some reason that Kallax inserts link didn’t work, at least not for me. Here’s another link: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ikea-Kallax-Storage-Solutions-for-Craft-Crafters-Paper-Ribbon-Card-Decoupage-etc/192873986606?hash=item2ce82f7a2e:m:mvXTPOCIXD7MOmiiwATEAMQ .
weird it was working when I put it in, it was the link we used in the show after all. I’ll swap it for yours, cheers @totsuzenheni
Loving this thank you. The two henchmen carrying the chest are by Reaper Miniatures.
Indeed they were. Pure lunacy as usual. It definitely has helped through a rough morning. They were in the Pay It Forward event last year on the March 8th vlog video.
as always….happy sunday
be warm and safe
@warzan Here is a storage solution one person came up with for their dungeon…
Involves an old chest of draws (sorry, it is via Twitter).
https://twitter.com/hexcrawl/status/1252289754479165442
I use an old chest of draws, I get not everyone has the space for one especially with kids, put some dividers in and it works a treat and it was super cheap but mine is no way as awesome as that one in the link ?
Re the puzzle
Can you not just use the old adventurers trick and completely ignore the whole thing until the DM eventually gets pissed off that nobody’s trying to solve it and just make the characters roll under their Int so the story can progress
We don’t need to solve it to progress the GM is smarter than that to bottleneck us morons.
This is purely because it’s annoying me now
The Ares case. Is that a map of Greece he’s standing over?
Happy Sunday!
Big hobby day ahead – time to add decals to my TY M24 Hinds. Haven’t done decals for literally decades and I was never any good then! I’ve been watching the videos (inc Gerry’s) and have the Micros** products… No putting it off any further, wish me luck!
Hang-on… if Gerry hasn’t solved it, how will he know if an answer is right?
I won’t but the answer went to Warren to plug it into the badgery gubgub machine that you talk into to solve it. Since puzzles don’t interest me I’ve never looked near it, but I assume it’s a speaking tube, like in Dune
Happy Sunday!!
Awesome god minis ?
Happy Sunday!
Thanks @team for the golden button – it’s given me the motivation to finish those workbenches today. It might also provide some comfort when my CogitoLudos streak comes to its inevitable rune-based end this week ?
Happy Sunday to all.
Happy Sunday everyone!
Myself and @yavasa will be LIVE STREAMING a community wargame of Valor & Victory on Sitrep Podcast, starting at 5:30 UK time (12:30 US Eastern time) – set during one of the climactic Viet Minh assaults during the 1954 Battle of Dien Bien Phu. It’ll be French Foreign Legion paratroopers and Moroccan riflemen with M-24 Chaffee light tanks against a 3:1 human wave, backed up by massed communist artillery and rockets, all in the pitch of night!
We hope some of you will swing by and say hello!

@avernos, @warzan, Ben and LLoyd
Have you guys not looked at Roll20 as it has everything built-in (Dice Roll, Maps Builder and Character Sheets for the games) https://roll20.net/
I’ve played DnD on Roll20 for the past 4 years (just finished our campaign) and I’ve run the best star wars system (D6 WEG) game for my players on it.
I used roll20 once and was so unimpressed I never logged back in, if in the last 8 years they’ve made massive improvements and made it free it may be on par with discord. otherwise I don’t see the point in it
Hi Jerry, I would have a look at it as it made our life much easier, we use Discord for Voice but the management of the game is done in Roll20
Yes they have made massive improvements 🙂
don’t I know you, do you have a youtube channel?
Happy Sunday ?
I’ve got one eye permanently on those tables + mats from Gamemat for my flgc, they’re simply fantastic ( when we can afford one mind ).
Gerry other than seeing some repeated symbols across what you shared I have no idea, I’m not smart enough to crack codes, years ago when I was a kid playing with a group of adults the DM was literally pointing to the answer for me and I still didn’t get what he was on about.
Ben I feel I want to repeat it again here as you might see it if there’s less comments, and you mentioned Pan so that’s my tenuous link, Mr Otter and his son Portley are characters in Wind in the Willows, you may remember in the animated film Otter was teaching his son to swim, somewhere about the middle of the book Portley goes missing, and while he’s lost he’s being looked after by Pan untill Rat and Mole can find him.
Warren, in the wise words of Steve Rogers . . . “Language!!”
Lloyd, continue to ignore the heathens, your project logs are brilliant, in depth awesomeness you struggle to want to find anywhere else.
Ah I see – I never realised that. Thanks for the extra Wind In The Willows info 🙂
I’ve got my coffee and I’m in front of my PC… let’s see what this is all about
24 minutes into the XLBS…. much sexual innuendo yes? XD
Well that show ended on a roller-coaster XD
Happy Sunday, a very enjoyable video, thanks
Very funny show. That Fallout terrain is amazing @darkdanegan.
Thanks @robert !
Happy Sunday folks.
Cheers for the content guys
Also can we get links for the videos. I want the dog one from the start please 😀
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPftwVdqh4c
That’s the dog one
Cheers buddy
happy Sunday from me and yes the bird has started again cuckoo.
the bird almost has a heart attack when he sees the Cybermen, yes finally rest, but no.
even during star wars ! Burrows & Badgers ?? weasel your way out ? even if it wasn’t the intention ??
Always got to get it in there somewhere.
What about decorating pasting table’s @warzan ?
Happy Sunday folks 🙂
As they sayed in Serenity @warzan you can’t stop the signal.?
Use a mirror @lloyd
Is that two Ork player’s taking their dice to a game Lloyd?
Das Gerry boat? Lol
Ah Kallax. I have a few, could use a few more.
Talking about hobby space I’m quite glad I made the decision to convert the garage into a hobby room just before xmas. As I now have a great hobby space but also some where I can hide lol
A Great show guy’s loved it say safe and stay sane everyone.
Happy Sunday. I have one of the folding tables for several years, love it. I have modified it using PVC to build a frame at the base to allow the table to be shifted across the carpet without putting strain on the legs. I can’t see why PVC couldn’t also be used to raise a table, although I find the tables height acceptable. Also, I added 3 pieces of thin (3/8″?) 2′ x 4′ particle board placed across the top to level off the raised seams where the table folds; this makes the terrain matting lay perfectly flat. All together the PVC and wood mods probably cost me less than $20.00 US.
Happy Sunday to everyone!
@warzan In my spring cleaning project, I found and used a plastic storage bin set up for project storage and organization. It might work for you. I found bringing a project out and putting it away was a hassle, so I looked for something that would make it easier and faster.
Happy Sunday!
Well, another couple of hours hobbytime completed thanks to your show – although it still irks me I didn’t get a golden button all those years ago when I posted a project 😉 . Congrats to everyone who did – some amazing work there. I especially loved the Fallout project as it detailed all the steps so well.
Maybe I need to do another project………
Happy Sunday….
I won’t lie. Bit of a rough morning, up until 04:40 working, four hours of sleep, finish in time for a noon appointment, etc. Not the most cheerful chap under the sun, suffice it to say.
Within 10 seconds, @warzan had me laughing with his “cyberman” act and enormous eyes with the glasses.
Just that fast, my day is a little bit better. 😀 😀 😀 😀
Happy Sunday Guys, brill show again, cheers for that link to the storage solution for the kallax shelving just what i needed and there from ards just up the road from me, brill.
@brennon FFG Star Wars is amazing. We ran a 5 year campaign starting with beta book they released at GenCon 2012.
We’ve continued to play new adventures up through the start of the Stay in Place and are now moving to online.
It’s a fantastic system. The dice system totally sells me and I find Stormtroopers are still a threat even when the players have 600 xp (though they do die faster).
I’m always willing to discuss the FFG Star Wars system.
I have really been enjoying it too – really like the character creation and focus on the action. Stormtroopers nearly got us as we were fleeing in the starter scenario!
SW D6 from WEG forever. Disney can’t kill the EU.
I busy re-writing my D6 campaign for my players with a brand new map. I will be running WEG D6 Star Wars
Cyberman!? First thing I thought was “Halt who goes there?”|
The snotling… I mean kids are getting to Warren. XD
Love the @warzan solution for storage and they sell in the US eBay store too. Sharing for the US COGs out there; https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ikea-Kallax-Storage-Solutions-for-Craft-Crafters-Paper-Ribbon-Card-Decoupage-etc/202362070921?hash=item2f1db82789:m:m-Laza3GovuCbi5CXUrFfGg
Happy sunday!
Happy Sunday, all! Thanks for making me laugh and smile today. I needed it.
@warzan I feel your pain. One of my projects, at the start of all this isolation, was to gut and rebuild some of my storage so I can get around my tiny apartment, find my various projects, and even work on them. It has brought major peace of mind. I am wishing you the same as you proceed. By the way, I think all the entertainment you bring us with your codes is worth infinite points. I certainly haven’t solved all of them.
@avernos I swear, we may have been separated at birth. I am an Original Gamer (or Grognard according to one local club), love Kings of War, have oodles of strange and esoteric minis packed away, adore my Guinness, and rebuilt my entire hobby area with IKEA pieces in part because my paint bottles fit the drawers perfectly.
@brennon I respect your organization and neat workspace. I can’t keep mine that way but I respect yours. My Dungeon Saga set has been sitting under the dining table waiting for me to clear it so I can set up solo play. Somehow I always end up sorting another closet onto said table or ignoring it all to paint Oathsworn dogs.
@lloyd All those little plastic drawers! I would love to have that set up. Every week I look at your background and think,”How do I get that set up just for my bits and unpainted minis?” You even know where all your tools are and where they go when you’re done. Goals.
A good episode. Let’s face it, you need 1:32:55 to prepare for the AMAZING REVEAL at 1:33:04 and the TOTALLY EYE POPPING COMMENT at 1:33:14….you have been warned. This is NOT FOR THE SQUAEMISH
Great show guys.
@warzan for info the Kalax also fits the manga racks from battle foam if you want mini storage.
Really enjoyed this one guys! Great job.
@avernos. Can’t believe you were wearing those Star Wars pajama bottoms, because when I started watching this yesterday morning I too had the exact same pajama bottoms on! My wife’s family must have shopped at the same place as you. They gave me those a couple of Christmas’ ago!
The only thing you are missing are the matching Stormtrooper Birkenstock sandals that my wife got me in Germany!
Happy Sunday everyone.
For hobby space ideas, I was thinking of trying to find a wheeled cart. One that works wellish on carpets would be nice. That has basically two+ levels with the top one high enough to use as the main hobby space. With the lower ones holding supplies/bits for the current project. And when your done wheel it out of the way. Of course this doesn’t work well with little ones running around every where but its a thought.
Does anyone have any ideas of what carts to look for?
Late to the party, but here’s my Mythic Battles Pantheon project. Some models look remarkably similar, good minds think alike!

@warzan – I feel your pain with the gaming table!
I have tried the Gamemat tables and was not impressed with the stability unfortunately and ended up returning it for which I must say they were great about. I ended up going for a folding camping table and then used some wayrock board to make the 6 x 4 topper. This is an affordable solution with minimal effort which having used both is far superior if I am honest.
The table is small enough to store where as the Gamemat table was quite big and heavy
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01NAG9SDE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I cut the wayrock into 4 foot lengths and three parts are slightly under 6 foot but with a battle mat on the top it is fine, I hold the parts together with adjustable toggle clamps
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07CYQZM1P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The Wayrock I got from a local builders merchant but the stuff is what you would use to board out a floor
https://www.diy.com/departments/p5-tongue-groove-chipboard-floor-panel-l-2400mm-w-600mm-t-18mm/1696267_BQ.prd/gallery
How could I post photos to help my wenglish description?
For my gaming table, I got two of the cheap kitchen tables from ikea, made a couple of metal connectors to hold the tables together and hold a middle panel.
It would take about ten minutes to take off the connectors and then all the table legs, but it was the best value solution I could see. and more sturdy then those folding tables because it’s mostly solid wood. just don’t sit on the middle bit.
