Iconic German & Soviet Tanks Clash With New Flames Of War Releases

September 18, 2018 by brennon

A range of new tanks are available for those diving into their Flames Of War battles between the Soviets and Germans as war erupts once more on the Eastern Front. We'll start off with the Soviets...

T-34 (Early) Tank Company - Flames Of War

The first set to look at is their new T-34 Early Tank Company. With a relatively low profile, these tanks would have been good hunters and were particularly speedy too. This remake of an earlier design came back with thicker armour and bigger guns.

Matched alongside the T-34 Tanks we also have the KV Tank Company which was one of the most heavily armoured tanks in the world.

With 120mm of thick steel on the turret alone many tanks had little chance of penetrating the hull of these beasts.

German Retaliation

Leading the way for the Germans we have the Panzer III Platoon.

These workhorses of the German army had been seen across many different theatres of war and found themselves appearing on the Eastern Front uparmoured and tougher, ready to take the ringing hits from the big Soviet tanks.

We also have the Panzer IV Platoon.

These snubnosed tanks were used in more of an auxiliary role later on during the war being used to launch forward artillery strikes and smoke screens to cover the advance of additional tanks.

Talking of artillery, we also have this trundling chunk of metal, the Sd Kfz 10/4 Light AA Platoon.

These AA Platforms were key to the advance of the German army through Soviet-held territory. Their guns could be used to keep away threats from the air and then turned to face the ground if infantry assaults were threatening their position.

Their high rate of fire made them a terrifying proposition to fight.

Which side are you fighting as in Flames Of War right now?
