Giving up profit and reducing price just to attract more backers based on the assumption that they can get 25% more kits sold reads like a bad idea. Any problems and what little profit they had is going to melt away.

Even GW sells simple vehicle kits at the 60$ range … so it seems odd for a company to try and compete at that level.
