I totally remembered there was no weekender this week. I think the alarm sound is now a must.

(1) Is a hard tabletop boardgame necessarily a good one?

No, but then it is no guarantee of being a bad one. The best ones (funnily enough like Hellboy) let you cater the difficulty to taste. Personally I prefer the experience and story over the headache. Relating it to video games, I have no issue with finishing games on easy mode in order to see it all. I’ve definitely walked away from difficult or tiresome ones, thinking of Final Fantasy 13 and Bayonetta in particular.

(2) Do board games based on a computer game work? Or do they get muddled up in immitating the game’s style translating directly into a tabletop game and suffer?

I think I may never have played one ?. I did see the kick starter resident evil all together and there was a ridiculous amount of stuff but I’ve never seen it played. Has anyone tried Dark Souls? I know the game’s reputation of being punishing so will be interesting to see if that was what the designers took away.

(3) Do games have too much accessories?

Figures, no, accessories, yes. Dungeon Crawler games being the worst culprits here. I’m just shocked that nobody has made scaling wound tokens in fact I probably shouldn’t have thought that out loud.

My pledge this weekend is to take a hobby break. I may spray some more Hellboy figures but not much more.

Talking of Hellboy figures and asking on behalf of Reichbusters players too, for historical German soldiers, circa 1943-45 when the uniforms had turned to the grey how do historical players handle painting any umm insignia on them? Apart from the VERY obvious no is there some for of guide to etiquette?

I guess I can add some music too.

Oh I believe there was a Witcher boardgame that was very well received?
