I’m a little naffed off this week – you guys have been a brilliant inspiration to actually get some hobby done in recent weeks, and I feel like I’ve let you down by not getting my pledge finished in time for the new weekend (I *did* get some paint onto the stepper-motor-driven gun turret, but it was only a black primer and some silver drybrushing so I feel it doesn’t really count).

I *did* try out a new painting technique though, and quite liked the result:

I fell out with my stupid, spluttering, pain-in-the-arse airbrush and just used a rattle-can white zenith over Halfords Matt Black primer. I then used a black wash to re-introduce some of the darker shadows.

I tried to keep some of the heaviest shadows while layering (normally I just paint over the top and pretty much cover the entire base layer). It took a lot of faith to leave black showing on the face of the female character! But I don’t think it looks too bad – up close, maybe a bit ropey, but at arms length, it’s better-than-ok.

I’ve got a couple more minis on my painting table which I hope to get finished, but I feel like I need to pledge (once again) to get my gunner finished; if only to be able to close the project on this website, and get ready for next month’s Vampires from Titan Forge!
