Thinking about tools that might be handy I’d recommend if you’re playing with anything METAL!!!!!! … *ahem* metal. I bought a gross of saw blades from Otto Frei over a decade ago and I’m still going through them. Overall here’s a list of single items that could be rummaged through and picked from. Good luck yo your wife and the options you now have to get as gifts.
- a good jeweler’s saw and/or saw blades
- hobby knife blades
- fancy themed resin bases of your choice
- plasticard sheets
- lasercut MDF basing (the backbone for roller mold like Greenstuff World)
- plastic terrarium/aquarium plants for basing/terrain
since you do have that fancy airbrush system I’d say some stuff to work with yours now
- A large bottle of airbrush primer
- airbrush paint thinner (Vallejo) for priming
- airbrush flow improver (Vallejo) for helping the regular paint and to keep your system clean
- airbrush cleaner solution
- airbrush cleaning pot
- airbrush spray filters (available here on the OTT store)
- ultrasonic cleaner (nothing fancy and easy to find on Amazon)
- dental paper points (they’re small enough to run through the nozzle of an airbrush to help cleaning)
Thinking about the suggestion @blinky465 made on magazine subscriptions it might not be bad (I think these also do digital)
- Amazing Figure Modeler (probably will see more kits that are gods awfully beautiful but pricey and might be another hobby all to itself)
- DAMAGED (great for seeing weathering done to models)
- Figure Model Magazine
- Figure Mentors
