February 25, 2021 at 11:14 pm #1616823That’s a bit like asking ” how long’s a piece of string ?”
Try these for some inspiration…

February 26, 2021 at 2:30 am #1616838Thank you sorry for the vague question just my first time painting something this big
February 26, 2021 at 8:58 am #1616870I also apologise for being a bit abrupt.
Dr Faust has some excellent videos on painting dragons.
Vince does a ” cheating” series that is useful.
Sam is so laid back you wonder how he gets anything done.
James is just The Master.
Angelo is possible the best airbrush painter around, he even dots the eyes with one.
Best advice I can give is just start and see where you end up.
February 26, 2021 at 12:43 pm #1616971I must admit that the size of that drake is probably the most intimidating part of the project.
I also wouldn’t know where to begin … (and I have a really big one that I want to paint eventually).
It is a bit like painting an army … except unlike an army you can’t do a tiny bit and have something finished at the end of a day.
This sort of thing will take several days(?) just to get the base colours down … never mind getting it to tabletop standard (or beyond). So yeah … how do you approach the really big monsters/vehicles/terrain pieces ?
February 26, 2021 at 1:33 pm #1616992Tbh my Limburger this is the first time I’ve painted something of this size this a 100mm model the biggest thing I’ve painted is the runewars golem
February 26, 2021 at 3:15 pm #1617046@demonprince if you had painted drakes of that size before you wouldn’t be asking for advice 😉
I just remember that there was a tutorial video on this site about painting a dragon.
This is it :It should have enough tips for your drake as well.
There also is one in the OTT Projects system :
